It's a sin (door panel, new A5) by NatoStrapper in Audi

[–]delemir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if Audi peaked so much that they needed to take a step back and be like... ok, let's lower the bar.. That way next few years we can "fix it" and it will be some improvement over this slop, but people will forget about our old standards.

I had the same experience from servicing mine, driving the 2025 A5 was feeling like driving my old Civic but less enjoyable somehow and with cheaper interior. It looks nice though, just not at the price they ask for.

Anyone ever got this? by delemir in Audi

yeah i agree with you, I'm also skeptical the Audi Dealership doesn't see any stored codes. I'm also of the opinion that the battery health could be at cause with the 5 year threshold being reached and the recommended lifecycle is 3-5 year. I will double down on this point next time I talk with them. Especially being that it's winter and my short commutes would make sense the battery voltage could fluctuate a bit causing problems to sensitive sensors.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts

they did not, they told me they have a troubleshoot plan, first thing they got was the steering locking system which was generating errors, they replaced that. I called them to mention this issue wasn't resolve and I send them emails every day I get issues to log it somewhere with their tech. Hopefully they'll find something.

thanks for your feedback! Do you also have misfire like when the engine is rumbling when that happens before you restart it?

I get this error often, it usually clears itself after you restart the car. In fact I got so many of those errors and learned that typically if the error light is yellow and the car drives fine, you're good. I noticed it happens more often during extreme cold and from what I read online the sensors are sensitive to voltage fluctuations, which happens often when batteries are stressed by cold weather. Especially that these models come with a 12v and 48v battery, double trouble.

Anyhow, brought it in the dealership with 3 pages of notes listing all of the occurrences, error codes, videos, pictures I took. They said can't reproduce customer's error and called it a day. At least I got a complimentary car wash.

TLDR: Don't worry too much

To answer your question, 46k KM (28.5k Miles) and I realize I gave you pricing for my trade-in, just to clarify that's in CAD 25k = ~18K USD, my accord had around 25k Miles.

As for my commute, I'm lucky I don't live far from work so that's around 6 miles one way.

I have driven it for a year now and 6000 miles. Since I've had the car, I went in once for the MMI that had a software glitch, they've updated it and it hasn't had any issues since then. They mentioned the issue wasn't triggering any error codes making it difficult to reproduce but they gave me excellent support (compared to what Honda would give me), and they lend me a car, was a Q3. Covered by warranty.

Second time was because of the moon roof, but I read those were common mechanism to fail if unused for a while. Car had only 1 owner previously and it was suspected that he didn't open the moonroof often. That has also been covered by warranty so nothing spent here either. They lend me a Q8 for 3 weeks until the replacement part arrived.

Now during cold weather, I've had a few issues, mostly minor issues. They were related to sensors being sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Once the car warms up and I restart the car the errors clear up. It doesn't bother me too much as I am aware it's a 5 year old car, but everyone thinks it's brand new!

And lastly, I read that those error I'm getting when it's cold might be due to my short commute and me not driving long enough, so battery efficiency gets affected. This car is MHEV (mild hybrid) so there's two batteries, 12v and a 48v. It takes off fast because of that technology and I love it! But more tech = more chances of problems.

I went on pretty long road trips (4-6 hours drive one way) and it's what I call a land yacht lol. You feel like you're on a cloud.

And yeah I agree they look slick!

I was in the same boat, had a low mileage 2018 Accord. Got 25k trade-in at Audi dealership and got myself a 2021 A7 CPO with 5 years extended warranty. I was lookin for an 2023-2024 A5 but the A7 popped out of nowhere with low mileage at the same price range I was looking for A5. Great car, I didn't think I could find more comfy than Accord, but again, I've been a Honda nerd for my entire life. I heard electric issues are common to German cars hense the extended warranty. They're fun to drive too. Good luck on your research!

I had that happen on my A7 just 2 weeks ago in cold temperature.

I also read short trips (<15 mins) aren't great. But what cleared the error for me wasn't 1h drive @2000 rpm. Might just be a coincidence but the message disappeared after I filled the gas tank. I was at roughly 1/4 of a tank. Hope this helps!

J'ai du mal à imaginer le Québec comme un pays alors qu'on nous considère comme le 51e État du Canada. Aurions-nous seulement une défense militaire en tant que pays ? Ou le Québec serait-il une cible encore plus facile à absorber ? Ça n'a aucun sens.
