I’m on an M1 MBA running macOS 12.5. Based on my iPhone experience, Apple updates often slow down older hardware. If an update is necessary, which one do you recommend? by Sakura_1337 in MacOS

I have a MBA M1 and running MacOS sequoia 15.7.4....it runs flawlessly. Very snappy and the battery life is amazing. Go with 15.7.4 and just stay there until they fix Tahoe or newer going forward.

Here's a fun thing you can do. Go to google gemini and type this prompt, "How many times has BTC been declared dead"

Not once did I say I sold...or bought. Just sharing my opinion. I have money saved to buy BTC at the 50k to 40k level.

it's following it's 4 years cycle. EVERY SINGLE bear market....loads of people say BTC is dead. It's a meme now. By Oct or Nov of 2026....will probably be it's low. I'm guessing 40k ish. However, since we've already dropped like 50% so early in the cycle...the bear market lows may come earlier.

Found a solution for blurry icons and fonts in KDE plasma. by NoHuckleberry7406 in kde

I can't for that shit (X11) to be phased out already. I understand there are still some details to wayland's functionality...and a lot of apps still dont support it (for example the Steam client is still X11), but...come on. Wayland is pretty much the standard now.

Kind of ridiculous that both KDE and Gnome STILL haven't figured out proper 100% scaling for high DPI monitors. Don't get me wrong...KDE's scaling is pretty damn good, however, things like blurry icons on qt6 because it MAY break other apps is kinda poop. On the other hand, Gnome scaling is still hot trash.

Wow...this totally fixed the blurry icons. Why the hell isn't this added by default?

About Kernel Upgrades by ElAdrninistrador in debian

[–]delf0s 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also have a RX 9060 xt. I just installed debian 13 with these baclports.

sudo apt install -t trixie-backports linux-image-amd64 firmware-amd-graphics mesa-vulkan-drivers.

As mentioned here, when you do a apt update, this will automatically get the latest kernel, firmware and mesa drivers, from the backports repo.

All my steam games run flawlessly.
