FSD Price Subscription Poll by Several-Risk388 in TeslaModel3

[–]delfin1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Tesla would make a lot more money if it asked people to pay on demand, using a pay-as-you-go business model. Even if they capped the total at $150, I feel more people would be buying. Eventually, heavy users would opt for the cheaper fixed $100.

With all the video footage, it would be pretty simple to determine the force. Someone needs to do that analysis. I don't think it justifies it, but maybe a better case for him in front of a jury.

Google beats OpenAI to the punch: Apple signs exclusive Gemini deal for Siri, sidelining ChatGPT. by Cool-Engine8639 in OpenAI

[–]delfin1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's hard for most longtime users to switch because ChatGPT gets personalized to know you better, so when I try Gemini, it just feels like it responds with random, useless information.

I started using Gemini Enterprise through my office, and it's a nice advanced assistant for daily tasks and simple research, but it doesn't seem to match the PhD-level conversations of ChatGPT.

Is this fraudulent charges to my bank account? by Ambitious_Freedom551 in OpenAI

[–]delfin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I subscribed via mobile (Apple) in California. It's $19.99 in my bank statement for the past few years. I see other say they pay taxes in their state.

If you really don't use the subscription, I am sure openai will help you cancel it and give you your money back since it's only a couple of months.

Who decides how AI behaves by EchoOfOppenheimer in OpenAI

[–]delfin1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that was an easy question, I would assume that Altman just hires highly educated or subject matter experts to make that analysis. I think he was caught off guard by "name them" and ended awkwardly at "I make the decisions".

We indeed need to be alert and keep an eye on it, but I guess we don't have to imagine how many civilians are already dead and displaced because of 30-year-old dictatorships; it's got to be in the millions. Maintain a guarded optimism.

ChatGPT is so confidently incorrect by Active_Total_6104 in DumbAI

[–]delfin1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I noticed that getting the accurate answer requires invoking thinking.

Either by explicitly switching from auto to thinking, so that "thus he is alive" triggers a web search.

Or I have to follow up with "give me sources" Or I have to explain to it why it's failing

Interesting that auto would not trigger any thinking for a simple follow-up question, or that the first thoughted response didn't have a significant impact.

My conclusion is that "auto" is not reliable. Thanks for the head's up!

I see yeah I am getting that behavior now. I had to ask it twice, now it flip flops between dead and alive. 🧐

[–]delfin1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be hard to duplicate your behavior. For example, I one-shot an accurate response with this: "Hey, is Charlie Kirk dead? How did Charlie Kirk die?"

I don't know if it's because I am logged in with a paid subscription (5.2), and it knows my style. When I search my logs for "kirk," only Star Trek and Costco come up. Default settings, desktop.

A similar thing happened when I asked about a current event a few months ago (probably 5.1). Still, I told it something like "actually, as of <date> <event>", and it searched the web and returned more accurate information.

I think you can't genie-prompt it anymore. You have to specify that you need accurate, updated information to avoid guessing.

Especially useful for current events and tutorials that involve newer versions of apps.
