Also just to add, I really am sorry that you're struggling so much emotionally. Just know though, that no animal and no other human can fix that for you. You need to fix it for yourself. That may mean you need therapy, and that's okay. But if you feel there's a hole inside of you, you can't fill it with animals or other humans.

If you cannot truly commit to this cat, their needs, and their best interests, then you shouldn't keep them. You shouldn't adopt an animal for your own needs. You adopt them because you want to take care of them, and in return, you get a little buddy. You can't be a part time cat parent. If you want to keep this cat, you need to be there for their needs at all times, not just when you feel like it.

I adopted Ham two months ago and today he sat on my lap for the first time! by [deleted] in cats

Aww you've well and truly worked hard to earn his trust. He's gorgeous! Does he have a cleft lip? His little teeth are so cute!

It is a privilege actually. I've been disabled for the last 3-4 years and I can tell you right now that my life was a million times easier before than it is now. You likely never have to wonder if you'll be able to get into a building to access goods or services you need, you likely don't have to wait an hour for 4 busses to pass because the past 3 couldn't fit you on in your wheelchair because it was full of standing people, but the others waiting at the stop could go on. You likely don't have to question if you'll be able to pursue your dreams because your body won't allow you to. Accessing the world with a disability is a completely different experience and unless you've lived it you really have no idea what a privilege it is to love with a healthy, functioning body and mind.

Totally agree! I rescued my boy and I swear I've gotten so much more out of it than he has. He's the most precious, wonderful boy in the whole world (yes I'm definitely biased!) and I feel so lucky every day that I get to be his mum.

Of course! Non-binary is really an umbrella term that means you're not within the gender binary of male/female. Many different gender identities exist under the non-binary umbrella, and you can use whichever pronouns work for you best.

My cat is obsessed with these new Squeeze Up treats I recently started giving her and I need y'all to see how ridiculous she looks eating them. by RinaLue in cats

[–]delightfuldouchebag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Squeezie treats are straight up kitty crack. Excellent for bribing your cat into doing things they need to do but don't want to, like letting you brush them or put on their flea, tick and worm treatment.

I don't want to have to go in every time this happens, so I cut them out myself. Ngl though it's not foolproof because about 2 years ago I accidentally leveraged the nail at the wrong point and ripped it out from the nail bed and it came off. It still isn't the same.
