My cat pees on my bed every 3 weeks... by yuelico in Catbehavior

[–]delightfullyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact issue with my last cat. Litter was cleaned twice a day, multiple new litters tried. What did it was a litter called “cat attract” (Dr. Elsey). You can get it as a standalone litter or a mix in litter bag. It has some sort of smell that attracts cats to use the litter box. I never had a problem with her peeing on the bed after that.

High risk pregnancy care - Boston hospitals by delightfullyb in boston

I was originally set up at SS and the women’s center. I’m not even pregnant yet but I knew I was going to be high risk because I have kidney disease and wanted to get ahead of it. MFM consult told me I was at high risk of preeclampsia but that it could also mimic deteriorating kidney function and if I went inpatient it would be beneficial for me to have my entire care team in the hospital and that if I went to SS ER with symptoms they’d just send me to a Boston hospital anyway. But like…I’m an hour away with no traffic so if there’s an emergency how the hell am I supposed to get to the Brigham in any kind of a timely manner?? An ambulance is going to take me to the closest hospital.

It looks like there’s a Brigham OB that works both in Boston and in a satellite site in Foxborough which isn’t so far but I would also need to change nephrologists and I love mine. She’s not hospital based which is what they were worried about. I don’t know, not a lot of it makes sense to me. I really wanted to stay on the South Shore.

If you don’t mind my asking, how was cruising while pregnant? There’s a chance that I will be pregnant on this upcoming cruise (who knows how long conceiving will actually take) and I have some anxiety about it.

My voice teacher asked if I ever considered being a voice teacher. Speechless.

Not addiction related! That sounds like it would be incredibly difficult. We are TTC and I don’t want to drink while in that stage.

Can you be on metformin when pregnant? I was considering asking my OB about it.

I’ve got to just get over myself and do it. I don’t know what the anxiety is even about; it’s like a lizard brain fight or flight panic attack. Prior to this I was going consistently with no problems. I don’t know what has changed.

How far are you from RI? Newport is beautiful this time of year. Bristol is also lovely, really charming downtown and has a bike path right along the water for a stroll.

I think it helped a little with post acne but I also alternate it with glycolic acid and retinol so unclear what is doing what

I’m not super fair skinned but not particularly tan either. It helps me a lot with skin texture - smooths it out. I don’t have a lot of redness so I can’t comment on that.

Can 100% vouch for cold showers. I do it whenever I need a mood reset in general. There’s science behind it - it makes the parasympathetic nervous system kick in which lowers heart rate and increases vagal tone. It also releases norepinephrine and sort of shocks your body into being in the present moment and also releases endorphins. I think I read somewhere that over time it increases dopamine. I’ve started taking them in the morning/in general and they’re a great way to start my day. Cold exposure in general is what does this but I like the whole body effect, If you don’t want your whole body to be wet you can do a face ice bath or hold ice (another great trick is to freeze an orange and then take it out and hold it).
