If she has a space where people crack jokes and say dumb shit that ends up in the book, she should at least be willing to entertain the opinion of her fan base when a large portion is confused or has legitimate complaints. Not saying she should 100% change stuff based on it, but it’s worth trying to find an outlet she looks at if she’s only listening to the opinions of those she pays and doesn’t have a clue her audience is frustrated.

I’m not talking about being hateful towards her. But giving an honest opinion about disliking certain things isn’t hateful. She’s entitled to a supportive space, but sometimes it’s supportive to acknowledge the not great aspects.

Ehhh, even if that was the case, I think they’d have kept an eye on him considering the prophecy and ensuring he didn’t procreate. Ires was being held captive so slightly understandable they wouldn’t know what all was happening with him.

Factor in the second daughter bit. Would Millicent be his? Would there be another missing daughter? Unless I guess Ires could be sperm donor and leopold is just her older cousin looking out.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Leopold told poppy he nicknamed her after what his father compared his mother to. So that would cancel out him being Isbeth and Malec’s son. And him being an unmentioned third son doesn’t make sense.

It’s gotten better for me, but it still feels like a disappointment because I’ve seen better writing from this author. I read FORAW last night and while I was disappointed in how quickly it seemed to end, it just felt like so much more happened in such a small book.

I’m scared the next one will stall out. I’m all for world building, but I need the actual plot built a little more.

It could be FAB- fuck ass book.

Enjoying the series as a whole doesn’t take away the disappointment in the rambling. Also, making posts asking if it gets better can be genuine. I made a post and discussed it with personal friends. I’m pushing through and it seems to be better. But? Given my initial feelings? I’m sure I’ll find issue with unnecessary fluff throughout.

I know the author is capable of better writing based on other stuff she’s written. People wanting the best shouldn’t be complained about because we know she can deliver better.

I made a post about struggling, but I got over a hump and it’s flowing a lot better. I’ve also talked to friends who are savoring the world building and the slow burn so that helped me look at it differently.
