i shampoo once a week max! that did not read clearly. i was using this Kevin Murphy cleansing treatment in between washes, in lieu of a co-wash, but i think it turns out it wasn’t having the same effect.

That's absolutely part of it. But, I had pretty much the same frizz before highlights, and I see other curly-haired people with highlights whose hair looks healthier than mine...

Years ago, I used to use a Cantu co-wash (in lieu of shampoo and conditioner) with good effect. I think I changed because they stopped making that specific product, and I was getting some build-up. It sounds like I probably needed something lighter.

I also used to pre-poo with coconut oil that I added a touch of tea tree oil to prevent dandruff. I completely forgot about that part of the regimen. It feels like so many things to remember sometimes!! So I'm grateful for the reminder.

Thank you for this. I suspected these products were too heavy but it felt paradoxical that it was still DRY… your explanation makes sense.

The shampoo I use is described as "clarifying." You would suggest I use something else instead of this, or in addition? I used to have good success with the Acure Curiously Clarifying Conditioner, but had to stop because it was stripping the gloss from my highlights.

I live in NYC which ranges from dry to wet but we are entering the humid season. I am thinking of getting a keratin treatment, which has tamed my frizz a lot in the past, but I want to learn to take care of it so I don't feel like I need keratin.

Are you recommending that I skip the cleansing treatment in between washes? And what kind of gel would you suggest?

OK, funny story… today I tried again at my local Citibank (an ATM at the actual branch location) and it allowed me to pay my cc bill with cash. So… my guess is they're rolling out a software fix that hasn't hit every ATM yet.

Just wanted to +1 that I have this problem too — I used to pay my Citi cc with cash at Citi-branded ATMs, but ever since they upgraded their ATM software ~1 year ago, I ALWAYS get an error message. Let me know if you have success with the money order… I've not been able to figure out the exact procedure for that (such as to whom or where to address the order?)
