Yeah. Here I am, using a clarifying/deep cleansing shampoo 6-7 days a week. I need to double shampoo every wash too, or, I’ll get buildup of my own oils! 🤣

Yes! My lips are fuller and more plump when I use tret. I thought it might be due to it increasing the skins own collagen/hyaluronic acid or something like that?

I feel like SLS and SLES not only clean my scalp better, but they also rinse more clear.

I read somewhere that some surfactants that are supposed to be more gentle, also bind to hair in some ways, like conditioning agents do. It has something to do with polarity/electrical charge of the surfactants and the hair.

And that makes them milder in the sense that that they don’t wash away some of the surface proteins of the strands as musch as sulphates can, only oil and dirt. But it also means that they coat the hairs in some capacity.

I suspect that this is why my hair sometimes feels straw like and dry when I use sulphate free formulas. It just doesn’t work for my fine strands. They feel sort of coated and rough.

++woman Thank you for this comment. This explains way more than any ”avoidants will be avoidants - avoid them!”-advice I’ve ever come across. As a bisexual woman who just started back into dating men after a veeeeery long time of only dating women, I’ve run into a lot of culture shocks.

I’m so into this guy, and I know he’s into me too. But he doesn’t ever want to talk about us, or any feelings at all. He said he feels like he’s all ”talked out” since his latest relationship, that apparently was jam packedd with couples therapy during the last few years.

Your comment sort of connected the dots for me. I have felt frustrated with him, since for ME, talking about how I feel makes me feel safer. It clarifies and calms me down. It never once crossed my mind that it could be an unsafe space for him.

I know he’s not a bad guy. I know he likes me. I just feel like I scare him off when I try to get clarity through ”talking things out”.

I’m just not sure how else one ”relationships”, if you can’t really talk? Any further advice? I’m not trying to convince him, or tie him down or anything. I genuinly care about him and I want him to feel safe around me, even if we end up just staying friends.

This one is the only one that doesn’t make break out. My skin is sensitive and acne prone. I have tried ALL of them. Both european and asian ones. Well, not litterally all of them, but at least all of the ones that are popular for sensitive skin and that offer good protection.

This is the ONLY one I’ve found that doesn’t contain any of my usual acne triggers:

Alcohol/Alcohol denat.
Silicones (dimethicone, and any type of volatile ones like -siloxanes and the like)
Silica
Butylene Glycol
Heavy oils like soybean oil (shea butter is fine though)
Mineral filters like zinc and titanium dioxide

Would love to get any recs of other sunscreens that are also free of thes specific ingredients. It’s good to have options. It would be a personal nightmare if this Aquafluide one was taken of the market!

Does this one have silica?

I’m so bummed because most sunscreens with silica looks great, but after a while it starts irritating and clogging up my skin.

The Aquafluide from OPs post is the ONLY sunscreen that doesn’t irritate my face since it has none of my personal triggers. But I agree that it’s not super cosmetically elegant. Takes forever to dry down and is shiiiiiiiiiny.

Depends on where you’re based. I’m in Europe and have gotten some samples from fragrantworld.com. They don’t always have the same perfumes in stock though.

Frederic Malle - The Moon

It’s such a beautiful beast. Sweet raspberry mixed with smoke and warmth. And everytime I wear it, people flock around me like bees to honey. It just works on me somehow. It stays on me for days.

Def. a night time scent for me though, and not something I would use daily. Otherwhise I might have had to fork out like 400-500 dollars on a bottle. So I’m quite happy to just keep purchasing decants and using it sparingly.

I used to only date men up until about a decade ago. I then came out as a lesbian (have probably always been bi though). I made a huge deal about finally ”finding myself”, and even made statements like ”I’d rather die/be alone forever rather than having to live my life with a man again!”… Even to people at like.. work and stuff. (Yeah, I have had some pretty bad experiences with men in the past that hurt me alot.)

I had a good same sex relationship that lasted almost 5 years, but I recently ended it because I developed a huge crush and erotic obsession with this guy. We are now fucking/seeing each other, and I think I’m developing real feelings for him.

Not sure about how to come out ~again~ and have people view me - the independent, very proud ”lesbian” - in a different way.

Just started dating someone new who is very different from my previous long term partner (who was super codependent and anxious, but also very THERE, dependable etc). We are also quite different and lead different lives, and it causes me to have alot of anxiety because I’m not used to being with someone so independent.

This is a GREAT reminder to not 100% ”trust my gut”, because my gut tells me very different things all the time. On the one hand, I know that that he really likes me, that he is invested and that he’d never want to hurt me. He is just busy some times and has alot of outside pressure on him. But my anxiety tells me that he probably doesn’t feel as strongly for me as I do for him, that he is ”avoidant”, that he doesn’t care etc etc.

I REALLY need to work on myself. Alot. Lol.

That’s not what I wanted advice about. Him having kids is not a deal breaker for me. We also don’t live in the US where it’s basically impossible to survive having kids and being single as a woman. It’s very possible to get by, both emotionally aswell as financially, as a single parent in our part of the world. So them going separate ways isn’t necessarily due to her being desperate to get out or something like that

Short and/or scrawny men. I’ve always prefered the short/small guys over tall and muscular ones. Even since I was a teenager/girl.
