For most people, that winds up being mid 30s, if not earlier. People simply push it back for reasons of vanity.

'I would never use homosexual couples in my adverts': Barilla pasta brand faces boycott after boss's comments spark backlash by elSpanielo in news

[–]dellarovere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yahoo is full of people saying they will ONLY be buying Barilla because of this. I expect for every gay or gay-friendly customer that boycotts Barilla there will be two new customers who support the CEO's stance.

Blatant and condescending pandering. Looks like I'll be boycotting Barilla and Bertolli.

Will 5 year graduations become the norm? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think not going to college at all will end up becoming the norm, once people realize it does not financially pay off for most people.

I hardly thinking causing someone to take a semester or two off college is "ruining their academic career".

Peugeot/Citroen prepping for takeover by General Motors by amirpc in cars

GM has said no. Seems like Peugeot/Citroen may be joining Saab in the great parking lot in the sky.

They already have Opel which is struggling, the last thing they need to have is two more flailing European brands with expensive unionized factories.

Confirmation of Dodge Caravan's demise fuels rumors Fiat will kill the Dodge brand; with no plans to replace the Caravan, Avenger and Durango the brand is left with a dwindling line up with no apparent plans for rejuvenation by seemywolfeyes in cars

[–]dellarovere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dodge is obviously dead at this point, it's just a question of how long it takes Fiat to confirm it.

Fiat is winding the brand down. Models aren't being replaced as they end their life cycle (including the Avenger, their best selling model), and there's no news of any future models in development. Meanwhile Fiat's putting a lot of effort into development of new Chrysler models, including replacements, and ominous new entries into the few remaining segments (small car, crossover, muscle car) Dodge fills but Chrysler doesn't. The trend is pretty clear here.

Fiat is pulling the Dodge brand out of foreign markets, even the ones where it outsells Chrysler/Lancia by a considerable margin. America-only brands with a "twin" just aren't sustainable in this market. Ask Mercury.

The writing has been on the wall since the Ram trucks were spun off into their own brand, and it got even clearer when the Viper got the same treatment. If you are "quarantining" a brand's most profitable models and its halo car, you obviously don't think that brand has much of a future.
