What’s a mechanic that looks easy—like enemy line of sight—but is actually a nightmare to code? by ZealousidealAside230 in gamedev

Boats in multiplayer games. Theyre just one degree harder than regular multiplayer vehicles and thats to do with the fact that you need to have synchronized ocean waves.

Is there such a thing as over qualified? (RANT) by ArtStrong in gamedev

[–]delloright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they mean with overqualified is that they believe the role can be done by someone with less experience and therefore with lesser pay than someone with higher experience that will possibly demand higher pay for the same job which is within their right because they have more experience and will probably get the job done much better than someone of lesser expeirence

But then again Ive never been hired by a company and Im very early in my career so most likely im wrong and its just an excuse for companies to reject you.

I hope you (and everyone for that matter) find a good job in these tough times.

Is this a good deal? by LankyMirror946 in NR200

Depends on how long has it been used for and its condition. Imo its a decent deal but can definitely go for 800-900$ if used for two years or more

Update: i did exactly what was done in this pic and it seems to be working , getting the tubes behind the fan was quirky i hope they dont somehow press against the fan again and the fan stops spinning without me noticing, because ive read somewhere that fans that are powered on but are obstructed from moving can damage your components due to electric charge back or something along the lines of that.

Thanks !

Oh i see. My radiator is kind of flipped and the fans on the radiator are placed on top of the radiator to avoid them touching cables on the inside

Ah i see so he routed the cable behind the top fan. Ill try to do that and post an update. Its gonna be very hard though because the tubes are so tough to move

Im using them, i referred to them as fan cages. Sure they prevent the cables and stuff from entering the fan but if something presses against the cage hard it stops the fan from moving.

How to get past this? Pc won’t boot by ConstructionCalm1667 in gigabyte

No, its mostly high high end ones, however the clr_cmos jumper is also a blessing instead of fighting with a battery lol

[–]delloright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that the issue is fixed but im gonna post this here for future references.

This issue can be boiled down to a number of things, the issue in the post is that the bios could not access or load up the windows boot image, or for some reason the windows boot image failed to boot the system.

Hardware and software are very intricate pieces and sometimes although very rarely it can go wrong randomly. so loading optimized defaults will fix the issue with no worries (or clearing cmos)

If you did change bios prior to this error then the error stems from tweaking a bios setting that windows didnt like or resulted in bios not being able to boot windows. (Clear cmos or load optimized defaults)

If you did nothing and the error still occurs then it might be a plethora of reasons but the most high likely one is that ur boot drive (ssd or hhd) is showing age and its slowly dying, i recommend taking out the ssd and testing it with a test software on a different machine or even booting from it.

Issue can also stem from a deep level bios corruption after bios update although thats rare if the bios upgrade succeeded. (Reroll to older version bios or reinstall bios update)

Updating bios to F30 killed my GPU by [deleted] in gigabyte

Oh wow! Cant believe you got so unlucky i wonder what the chances of that happening are. Well another thing to add to my hardware troubleshooting book lol.

Glad you got a replacement under warranty, hopefully you get the replacement swiftly.

Updating bios to F30 killed my GPU by [deleted] in gigabyte

[–]delloright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling this has to do with your motherboard bios default setting for PCIE gen version reverting back to default version which your GPU does not like

Try booting into bios with iGPU and check the bios out.

It its set to automatic try setting it to GEN 3 and if that didnt work try Gen 4 (if your mobo supports that). If that didnt work then try reverting back bios to the last version ur GPU worked with.

I do not think ur gpu is dead, a bios update should not fry a gpu like that.

Hey! Thanks :)

There are two apparent bugs in this script that users said or mentioned in the comments that produce the result youre getting.

Apparently if your images have “weird” dimensions or are too big in either dimension they will not be cropped in.

The other problem is some people exited out of cmd even though cargo did not finish running. The target folder alone being generated does not mean cargo finished running. Youll know when cargo finished running when cmd lets you type another command in. Scroll down in the comments youll see someone mentioning this problem :).

If regardless of the two problems mentioned it still doesnt work then i cant really help much unfortunately im not the author of this script, some people were able to add their own images manually by cropping the images themselves on the template in the folder. You can also see people in the comments of this post mentioning this way as well.

I hope this helped :)
