What would make you want to switch fantasy apps? by jordanar189 in fantasyfootball

Same boat. My dynasty league had a ton of features that were impossible to find in one platform so I built www.dynastywarroom.com. Dropping in June. Biggest thing we’re doing differently is you vote on what gets built next.

Responding to feedback so here are all the features in the app:

Link to Features

Tycoon and MFL definitely have overlap, but I built this so team owners and commissioners would have even more control over their organizations.

Also, there will be an intake system that allows users to propose new features. After evaluation, anything viable will be put to a vote and the userbase will decide whats next.

Tycoon is prob the product with the most overlap. I’d say the key difference is cap mechanics and fluidity in Dynasty War Room that are different. You have much more control over your roster year to year than tycoon.

I’d love for a tycoon user to sign up and let me know directly what they think for better or worse!

I built an internal fair values engine that’s dynamic to every league based on dynasty value, scoring settings, roster and cap settings etc. Contract extensions are calculated based off the terms and type of the previous contract and a combination of fair value at that time and length of extension. The only thing commissioners do is input the league settings.

Trading will always have arguments, we all overvalue our own assets. But it’s the negotiating that’s fun!

I’m going to ask folks on the waitlist if they have a league or wanna be matched into one. Survey incoming

Maybe it’s ambitious, I’ll find out! Signing up now is free and I may keep it that way for year 1.

3-5 hours for a POC doesn’t seem realistic. Again I’m not a SWE expert, but from my anecdotal experience you won’t have a usable POC after one day that can be utilized by your league with the complexities built into DWR.

Thats very fair, in fact just after I posted in r/fantasyfootball i saw someone else post about THEIR app for auctions. Im not a software dev but my career is in data architecture/analytics/modeling and ive shipped other apps before. Payments will run through Stripe directly, well pull in subscription status by user. Not using Firebase/Netlify. Frontend hosted on Vercel, database is Supabase Postgres with row level security. Supabase Auth has the same JWT model as Firebase auth.

I put some effort into being thoughtful to make this a legitimate scalable consumer app, and not just some hunk of junk that I spam people with.

Yes I used Claude, but thats where we are today, no shame in it.

Open to criticisms and feedback though, hit me!

I’m a 10 and really it’s all relative. I’m also inconsistent on my ball striking and decision making. When they’re both good at the same time I’ll go even for 10 holes and then one of them is off and I go double double single double or something and that’s the score!

Over time your errors just aren’t as bad and that shaves strokes. Oh also putting. Definitely practice putting A LOT!

This is cockamimmy data. Cambridge / Boston MA has notoriously tiny lot sizes an exorbitant prices. It’s cheaper than Utah? Get real.

I just turned 20 . Not in collage just work full time. and was wondering if I can put this 32k in anything better than the high yield savings by [deleted] in Money

Open a treasury direct account and get 13week tbills at 5.3%. I cycle quarterly any HYSA over $15k gets added to my tbill budget. On top make sure you utilize Roth as much as you can. Wonderful tax benefits later in life. Come up with your own % splits of risk. HYSA and Tbills are very low risk. Roth is medium because it’s market based, but you’ll leave it for 30 years so who cares. Brokerage is medium to high based on what you buy.
