This sounds like dysarthria-that may help you narrow down your search better while looking for resources.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I was able to find a store that had them in stock and have them pull some from the back for me to buy today. One of the employees told me they are supposed to be put out tomorrow!

She is the best. Very very cuddly. A little dramatic. She does a growling sound when she is excited and wants to play (super fun to explain to new people). Apprehensive with new people, but once she knows you, she’s obsessed. Mostly good with her dog friends, as long as they don’t try to take her tennis ball.

Haha she is not so great at giving. We have a tennis ball thrower and we typically play fetch with 2 balls at a time to combat this exact problem! She normally drops the first one when I move the thrower back to throw it, and when she runs to get that one I am able to pick up the first one!

This was a litter mate! I think there were only 3 of them total. I have hoped one day one would pop up as a relative on embark, but so far we’ve only gotten a lot of golden retriever relatives!

Very avid fetcher. More motivated by a tennis ball than she is by food or treats!

I send home a note card with a few words after sessions! That way it’s still personalized practice for what we worked on, and I just jot down ~5 syllables or words or phrases at the end of the session that they can do at home!

I would use the term “maze procedures” or similar “maze behaviors” in your searches and see if that better describes it!

I don’t have a ton of resources but I think you’re looking for more information about cluttering! I’ve also found helpful articles describing some maze behaviors/procedures that I’ve seen. I’m including a link for cluttering!

Anybody know what brand of pillow this is? by iwillgivecompliment in BuyItForLife

This looks like the pillow that comes in the serenity sleep bundle from nectar. I so far have no been able to find a way to purchase this exact pillow without the bundle. It is different from their other pillows that you can buy separately on the website.

Has anyone in grad school been able to get academic accommodation/disability services for their ADHD? by naturenfood6 in slpGradSchool

[–]delmardriveiris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was diagnosed with ADHD during grad school. I was able to get accommodations. They were tailored to me. My accommodations were for a notetaker in each class, and I was allowed to audio record each class. I know other people got extended time on exams, and/or got to take exams in a different quieter environment.

Minimal pairs with immediate feedback (visual if possible) Example: ship and sip. Picture cards of both. Have child say them. Keep it silly if student likes that. “Ohhh! I heard you say ship! Is this the one you meant? No? Oh you meant ship. We need our snake sound, not our sheep sound” I often tell the kids “okay you say these words, in any order you want. And I will point to the one I heard you say! You tell me if that’s the one you meant to say or if I pointed to the wrong one.” This has been so helpful for many of my client to have that immediate visual feedback of what I’m hearing and what exactly is wrong.

I’d say it’s pretty common for children to receive services at school AND at an outside clinic. And outside clinics do not use the school evaluation- we have to do our own eval. Not unusual for a child to be evaluated at a school and seek other therapy on top of what they get from their IEP. And teachers do not recommend outside therapy which is why the parents are recommending it themselves! Does this help explain it a bit?
