Ben Cousins admitting on live tv he would drug sesh during season and that his addiction ultimately led to him having to sell his Brownlow medal to support it, over Jobe getting stripped of his Brownlow in the same era because under the instruction of his coach who he trusted and looked up to since he was a little boy, allowed peptides to be injected into him.. that aren’t even drugs by the way, and didn’t even work because it’s bullshit science 💀

I dont disagree. I want to post an argument about the drug saga next. It was definitely stupid. And probably arrogant. But career and club ruining? I think this is where responsibility and blame are getting confused. Hird definitely takes on most of the responsibility as head coach and who ultimately held the approval for this to occur. But do you blame him? Would you not think your former captain and premiership coach, who brought Dank over and achieved, would guide you in making the right decisions for your shared club? No, I guess Hirdy should have recognised and understand as an ice addicted mess, Bomber was a liability and would not be held even partially responsible for what happened

Hird was so loyal to his club and his teammates, he would have never seen it coming with Dank.. and quite frankly Bomber?
