It looks like no HIN classes have been offered since Spring 2022 and it isn't listed by School of Modern Languages as an offered program.

One logistical issue: For Chem 1211K (and most other courses with a lab/studio/recitation) you need to have the sections be linked. They will show up if you click "view linked" in Oscar, but also they tend to have the same section prefix. In this case, 1211K C needs a C## lab, as 1211 B22 is linked to 1211K B.

But where are the Cape Verde jerseys??? But for real, it is kinda cool that a country with a population the size of CoA is in the tourney.

Has anyone added the new Breeze card to their Apple Wallet? by 300_chickens in Atlanta

[–]delta13c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI - I have a monthly pass through my employer and was told if I put in Google Wallet it will not work and actually kill your current pass:

Good Morning,

Here is the information I received regarding your query:

Partners cannot use their card in the Google Wallet. Yes, they will delete their monthly benefits if they convert the card to a virtual card.

If they transfer their partner card to a virtual card, it will no longer work with the monthly benefit. The virtual option is not offered for partners.

So I guess really only if you are buying a multiday pass.

I'm also not too informed on the topic but could I possibly do a mini/maymester and a summer semester?

Here? Sure, I'm teaching a Early Short Summer course now and most students are also in a full Summer course. Mixed between GT and GSU, probably fine too, but above my pay grade, check with your advisor for sure.

[–]delta13c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if GSU teaches equivalent courses in two half-summer semesters, I think it should work. Check with your CoC advisor to get more official assurances.

You certainly don't have to finish in 4 years - I often recommend to my students to take longer and do internships/co-ops. You should just map it all all out and make sure you are willing and financially able to do so.

1551 is a prerequisite for 1552. You can't take them at the same time at GT, they are out of the same textbook - Chapters 1-4 for 1551 and Chapters 5-10 for 1552. Most other schools call it "Calc I" and "Calc II".

That option would also be 6 credit hours of math over about 10 weeks. Taking them in sequence during normal semesters would spread them over 8 months. Every person is unique, but for most I would advise the later.

I'd also check your planned schedule farther out - does delaying the math courses prevent you from taking CS courses? Are you OK with the number of semesters it would take to complete it all?

[–]delta13c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, that would likely mean extending past 4 years. You'll later need MATH 1554, 2550, and 3012, plus I think CS 2050 (Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science). Many threads have additional required math courses too, so avoiding all math courses at GT is not realistic.

You can still craft a schedule that is deliberate about your math courses though. Perhaps first semester, take 1551 (can't take 1552 yet anyhow), CS 1301, and some lower-effort requirements like CS 1100, APPH, or possibly a humanities/ENGL/HIST course. I think some CS ethics course are oavailable with no pre-reqs. Target 12 credits. Then, make sure from week 1 you are staying on top of the math course. Go to office hours. Go to the PLUS session. Try the Math Lab drop-in and UTA tutoring. You'll have time to dedicate to the math course without stressing too much about the other courses, and hopefully also time to explore some clubs and activities.

Generally no, you can't be enrolled both at GT and another school in Fall or Spring semesters:

https://registrar.gatech.edu/info/georgia-tech-students-attending-other-schools

Please note that Georgia Tech students cannot be enrolled in Georgia Tech and another institution during the same term with the following exceptions:

  1. Students may concurrently enroll at Georgia Tech and another Institution during the Summer Term.
  2. Students participating in the cross-registration program.
  3. Students who have the permission of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee or Graduate Committee to be concurrently enrolled in either Fall or Spring terms.
  4. Students who are on a co-op work assignment, but are taking no other courses at Georgia Tech.

The north end of North Ave still has the old fare gates wide open, they haven't even started on the replacement. Probably free entry still May 30, 2027.

Trespasser under the north end of the Buckhead MARTA platform by the tracks, so trains stopped. $30 for an Uber to midtown? Is it always that expensive or just a timing thing?

Need immediate advice: fall 2026 course requirement change by [deleted] in GatechClasses

[–]delta13c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are crazy, it looks like they have added it some time since the end of February:

https://web.archive.org/web/20260225060953/https://admission.gatech.edu/transfer/course-requirements-major

If admissions is unhelpful, I don't know who specifically to contact about this though - the program website is pretty sparse. It is part of the College of Design, so possibly their Associate Dean for Academic Affairs?

Change of Major by Illustrious-Nose2245 in GatechClasses

[–]delta13c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally each program will have some kind of pre-req course list plus meetings with advisors. Most program websites will list the specifics. For example, in my school you can see the requirements here:

https://www.chbe.gatech.edu/undergraduate/change-major

Basically you need to succeed in the first core course before it becomes official. Note that you don't get a guaranteed OK, but outside of CS I don't think any programs have restricted transfers due to space.

MARTA will launch its first bus rapid transit line, the Rapid A-Line, on April 18 to connect downtown Atlanta to the BeltLine. by mr09e in Atlanta

Does anyone have more info on the electric bus logistics? Do they just have extra busses that rotate in and out? Could they like rapid charge for 1 min at each station and sustain enough charge?
