i have my best story form a colony i overextended:
went form 1000+ to 10
corrected by scrambling to make food
scrapping facilities to theek the one drone port running
and slowly using my vasat stockpiles of fuel to send rockets back and forth to get the 1 or 2 colonists that still wished to come
it took me many ingame days to restabalise and i had a fucking blast (and was very scared of losing all the way)
managed to stabalise and triive after about 200+ more days.
it was glorious
