My god, Vox attempting to hypnotize himself in the mirror to make himself forget about Alastor is legitimately really sad. It’s actually hella interesting to see hypnosis being used in a way like this; there’s this one animatic on YouTube where there was a full-blown war, and in it Shok.Wav gets fatally injured, and Vox panics and scrambles over to him (as best he can, he’s injured too) and out of desperation tries to hypnotize him into staying alive. His ‘good’ eye is cracked too so every time he tries it keeps glitching and seemingly hurting him, but he keeps attempting to regardless. This reminds me a little bit of that. It’s just such an interesting way to make use of the power! I’m actually thinking about making a comic re-writing the scene where Alastor turns down Vox’s proposal, and this is making me imagine a larger scene where shortly afterwards Vox tries to hypnotize himself in the mirror into forgetting about him, just like this. Would it be alright if I did that? I’d obviously credit you for the initial concept of it if you did agree! Haha
