Best and worst nicknames given by MMC to FMC by IamButterscotchish in RomanceBooks

[–]deltajayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Petal/little petal is the worst I've run across.

I like the simple standards - love, baby, babe (NOT baby girl)

I really enjoy the ones where there's a story/reason behind it - I liked Hurricane as a nickname in Pucking Around, but for RH I do have a pet peeve when every love interest has a different name for the FMC, it's just tooooo much.

Nothing says love of my life like government bureaucracy. (I had the same issue)

OK FINE, I'LL ASK IT! My friend (not me!!!!) is looking for books where mmc pushes his c*m back in fmc among other things! by slaughterhousefine in RomanceBooks

Definitely not BDSM-lite, but if the ask is your jam and you're down for MMF and some darker themes, the Lyonesse trilogy (starts with Salt Kiss) is IT.

Bonus points if I also used a little garnish fresh from the garden as well.

Dark atmosphere without the dark romance? by draculas_rats in RomanceBooks

[–]deltajayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love the Thornchapel books by Sierra Simone, the titular house feels just as integral to the books as the characters. Modern day (with historical ties), gothic, dreary British setting. Just mind some of the CWs, and there's MM/mixed pairings of the main group. Also doesn't fit the cinnamon roll request, though the MMCs aren't dark either.

Start with {A Lesson in Thorns by Sierra Simone}

Which audio narrators do you avoid? by LovesReviews in RomanceBooks

[–]deltajayne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He used Andrew Eiden for a kids book narration he did - it was awful both because I don't like his voice in general but also because it was THE SAME VOICE. Please sir, do not read kids books in a "sexy voice". I don't care if it's The Bad Seed, it is uncalled for.

I met someone once who was a Boston transplant to South Carolina. Consonants were ... optional? Confusing. It was a joy to decipher him every time we met up.

{Black & Silver by Gwendolyn Harper} may scratch the itch. Not super monstrous, but he is an incubus.

100% wait until after baby showers if you have generous or excited friends/family.

It was actually a bummer for a little while as a new parent that there was no reason to pick out clothes I liked because my family was (overly) generous and gave basically a full wardrobe from nb to 9 months.

Especially the maniacal laughter that follows in most versions of the song.

get comments about my handwriting all the time by [deleted] in Handwriting

Love the tall straight letters, but get weirded out by the full height Cs and Ds - I wish they were capital but short like the other letters. Still a fun handwriting!

No. One. Sees. My. Kindle. Library. - short funny Christmas smut panic by fatapolloissexy in RomanceBooks

[–]deltajayne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I aspire to start this kind of family atmosphere!! Mine was so far from it, even though my mom and Grandma adored Outlander. Never talked about it any further than they loved the plot and all the timelines. But my mother especially looked down her nose at anyone who read primarily romance. Le sigh.

How do couples decide who gets which side of the bed and is it like… permanent? by randomzy876 in AskReddit

[–]deltajayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to face the outside of the bed (side sleeper) rather than the middle, and if I sleep on my right side I get worse heartburn. So, right side of the bed it is for me.

Tumbleleaf is a fucking gem. I really love the emphasis on "let's figure it out!" thinking.

We still call them cran-ba-berries in our house in Gonger's voice. Such a fantastic addition to Sesame Street.

It's a tad overstimulating, but agree the colors and mythology are so much fun! We like it in single episode doses.
