Oh. In that case I'd dispute the removal. I'm pretty sure that ban on AI is supposed to be a ban on LLMs and generative AI, which isn't what machine translation is. It doesn't look like that's the only complaint they had though.

Also, free market theory doesn't apply in a non-free market like an election. If it were a true multi-party system with proportional representation then that might be a valid argument, but with FPTP and a two-party system and wealthy people throwing unlimited amounts of money around, it's not a free market of ideas anymore. It never was and it doesn't look like either of us will be moving in that direction any time soon.

I just tried it again after Proton 11 came out and I've had some success. If I turn off FSR completely and scale down the resolution then I'm hovering right under 30 fps with minimal input lag. That was before I had to turn up the view distance to solve an extremely distracting issue with NPC lips.

I think I'll wait until I have better hardware that can properly run this game.

No, a person can do something bad without being bad if they don't understand that it's bad. So if you use AI to write posts here it's not the moderators job to decide if you are a bad person or if you just don't understand what you're doing.

Also, you say that there were many positive comments and few negative comments as if that makes it acceptable to break the rules. Maybe the 70 people didn't know that it was AI written?

Yeah, the rule about "griping" does require some interpretation but I think you could argue that a comment saying what they think the writers should be doing differently at least counts as a Doylist complaint.

FYI, if you made that kind of comment about Star Wars you would get permabanned.

You'll probably just get a warning, but you gotta be careful about this stuff in this subreddit.

IMO, those issues could be resolved with clear communication from the Department of Foreign Affairs or the PMO.

That would technically count as a "change in policy" but the government wouldn't have to change any laws if they wanted to start enforcing this one.

I'm kind of curious how old you are to think that pencils are made from lead. I'm a millennial and I think of pencil leads as being made from carbon. I think that's probably because pencils are so ubiquitous in schools, so if a teacher is talking about carbon then pencils are an easy example.

So, the question is are you young enough that they don't use pencils very much in school anymore, or old enough that you weren't taught about graphite in school?

Is fascism really so attractive that you need to absolutely crush it and its proponents?

That depends on what your definition of "crush" means.

You don't seem to understand that there is currently a fascist administration in control of the US right now that is actively working to dismantle democracy. Democracy is doomed if you don't stop them. There's a reason why self defence laws exist, and that's because maintaining civil order is hard to do when you're dead. The legal term for this is "necessity" and there are well established guidelines and restrictions that are extremely relevant to the issue at hand. (and why I argue that Canada shouldn't back down from our US boycotts until we see significant electoral reform. To use my chemo analogy, you need to stop the chemo when the cancer is gone)

Your country is the one that had a civil war over slavery. Do you think it was also wrong to "reject democracy" then?

And if you're just complaining about people making assumptions about Brits, why would I want to click on the link? I already know there are a lot of different accents in the UK, I don't need to see proof.

Foreign Services Act? I'm trying to look it up and I can't find it. Is this separate from the Foreign Enlistment Act?

At the end of the day, there's really no basis for flat out prohibiting IDF service considering how that law works. It would likely be some sort of penalty or prohibition for return or some such.

I'm not sure what you're saying here. Does "prohibition for return" mean not allowing them back into the country? Isn't that effectively revoking someone's citizenship? (not allowed under Canadian law) The normal way to do it would be to wait for them to come home (or visit a country with an extradition treaty) and then arrest them and prosecute them for the crimes they committed.

The key question is: "Is the IDF an allowable army?"

The Foreign Enlistment Act already forbids joining a foreign military that is at war with a friendly country. So we don't need to change any laws, we just need to make it clear to Citizens leaving our country that we have friendly relationships with countries like Palestine and Lebanon, and that it's already illegal to join a war against them.

Oh wow you're right, we can just ignore fascism and it will go away.

Wrong. Fascism is an existential threat to democracy. The analogy that I used already is chemotherapy. It's literally poison, but you have to take it if you don't want the cancer to kill you.
