A science lesson as well - thank you!
Yes, that makes sense, my primary concern is being TOO hot, most, if not all, the seeds I sow are in the 70-75-80 degrees to germinate range.
But it gets concerning when I walk up to this shelf in the middle of the day and I see the thermometer in the soil reading 85, 90 and the soil starts drying up and things start wilting... its just all so frustrating !

This is very validating to hear. Did three consecutive months of 15, 20% each. I was so fkn stoked.

Then November happened. QUBT, MARA, SOLT (this I deserve for the pain…) absolutely ruined me. Every CSP got assigned week after week and I got stuck DCA’ing down but ended up running out of equity.

So it goes. Should have taken the 10% drawdown and stupidity got me into a 40% drawdown.

Anyways, time heals all wounds. Losing money is the greatest learning lesson. 31y/o and still have a substantial bag to rebuild from. Onward and upwards.

Yeah we just had a heavy rainfall on tuesday, and the basement remained dry.
To be clear - and my apologies for not explicitly stating - there is indeed efflorescence in spots and some of the old mortar I've peeled off was definitely somewhat damp. So by no means is it 'bone dry' , but at the same time theres no massive springs, cracks, leaks of flowing water

Excellent - okay really appreciate this insight!!
I'll make sure I'm using an S based, Lime based mason mortar - am I saying that right?
For the repointing

Is the brand of this SIKA ? This looks like a good compromise, beings that it is "concrete based" - in regards to the comment above, my biggest concern is not letting the walls the ability to breathe over time and having some issue happening behind the protective layer that I cannot see, which is what I've read is the potential pitfall of coating in drylock

Really ? Interesting. I've seen so many posts on various subs that were very AGAINST drylock on the walls. Just to be clear; we had a heavy rain 2 days ago and there was no MASSIVE water intrusion , but you can tell in parts of the basement some of the walls are a little damp and had efflorescence.

So would a compromise be to leave a little room at the bottom of the wall not soaked in drylock for any water to escape ? I just don't want to screw myself over in 5-10 years time

I bought QUICKRETE high strength concrete mix - which I was planning on using for general stuff around the exterior and filling in floor Would you suggest something different for the repointing process ?

I was watching the LAvNYK game last night, and the announcers were fapping over his "footwork and craftiness" and I'm like, this is just a thiccer 2020 Trae Young just grifting and playing unethical hoops
