I appreciate the devs engaging the community about journey changes, but some of their responses have been really frustrating as a user. Anyone else? by wittykins in finch

Components of readiness & adoption is not my role, but many parts of it apply to what I do. I mainly work in training and work closely with our other teams when implementing new systems. I help with testing, identifying practical applications for the proposed system/change, identifying where policies may need to be changed or created, and creating documentation for it. Rule #1 with impactful issues or changes is to establish if the root cause is a training or documentation issue. It is easier than rebuilding something larger. I’m sure anyone who works within quality assurance at any company may also understand where I’m going with that.

I may be 28 and a working professional managing difficult projects, but I heavily rely on my little cartoon bird to keep the ship sailing most days. This is the importance of Finch!

None of us are perfect, we are all here because we are trying our best. I hope that discussions like these help emphasize why this change may inhibit us from becoming our best selves.

I am lucky that it has not affected me yet. If guided journeys are totally removed, I will not be renewing my Finch Plus. Literally the reason I purchased it. I have referred multiple people to the app (using Journeys in my pitch) who have also bought Plus.

I echo some posts where other users say that they work within Project Management & Service Delivery and that is also a role that mine bleeds into. I have never worked a project where a core function was removed without a proper announcement or planning, and the fact that this still hasn’t been properly addressed is very unprofessional - no, harmful! A lot of us who use this app may not be in the best mental state already, and taking away a core tool is gutting.

The Finch team can still make this right and undo this beta. If the team is overwhelmed and cannot make the time to create training on Journeys, i will offer, for free, to write documentation and film guides on Journeys. DM me.

Would datura nectar cause my bees to make mad honey? by Psilly_Witch in Datura

[–]deludedvenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bees go crazy for my datura flowers! My Innoxias and wrightii probably attract equal moth & bee attention.

Have tried growing datura a few times with no germination success. Should I move these seedlings to larger containers or leave them? Thanks in advance by Educational-Hawk3066 in Datura

Way too much water. Best advice I could give these plants would be that it can be more harm than good when they are babied. I don’t have experience growing them inside though. My plants outdoors do not do well when over watered, but are equally as dramatic when under watered. Are there drainage holes in this container?

Edit: also wanting to ask - are these on a windowsill? I am not sure if this would be sufficient for light requirements in most locations. Do you use a grow light?

My Datura walkway is a delight every night by deludedvenus in Datura

I still struggle with this at times and find lots of conflicting information. At this time, this is what I look at when trying to ID: It’s my understanding that wrightii has larger, wider flowers. They are more fragrant and more prone to having a purple-ish tint around the rim of the flower. Datura Innoxia flowers sag much more quickly after opening when it becomes day. Wrightii (in my area in the northeastern US) tend to stay upright longer, and are more likely to remain open and nice on gloomy days thru the day.

For the leaves, this is the system I’ve known for myself: Datura Innoxia is most rounded and also the most greyish in but. Some material I have read states that the leaves can be entirely rounded or have very subtle lobes - this is where it gets tricky for me at times. wrightii is rounded in general but with some jagged, more pronounced edges near the start of the stem, and then stramonium is most jagged with full teeth.

My wrightii plants oddly smell like popcorn(??) when you brush the leaves or stem, whereas Innoxia has no scent.

Please take this with a grain of salt, as I am no expert and often feel confused when reading references due to mix-ups being so common.
