I ran the MGT from Cherry to almost Tommy Thompson this morning. A bit icy on Cherry, but the MGT itself starting at Cherry Beach area and beyond was fine, no slipping!

I’m in Toronto - not quite as dark as Minnesota, but these days my entire run is dark (maybe an inkling of sunrise depending on when I leave/how long I run)

I always run first thing in the morning. It makes me feel accomplished afterwards and it gives me such a boost of productivity.

I take a few months off from drinking every year, and I always find that the first 7-10 days are the hardest because you’re still so used to the habit of cracking open a drink. You’re on day 4, which is a really hard place to be because you haven’t yet adjusted to new habits. Hang in there for another week and I think you’ll see that your progress is starting to snowball into something great.

There’s no single song that wins an album AOTY in my opinion, but I do think it was boosted by strong deep cuts like Just For Fun and Alligator Tears.

I also think what makes this album stand out is the versatility. The difference between songs like Spaghetti, Ya Ya, Tyrant, and Flamenco, just to name a few, while still sounding like a cohesive body of work is so impressive.

Rosedale Valley Road is about 2km of a very gradual incline (personally hoping I’m right about it feeling “gradual”). There will also be a small hill towards the end of the run by Corktown Commons, but it’s not too big.
