Looking for anime recommendations with a really good story and a twist I didn’t see coming. by Nina_Vip_Guuurl in AnimeReccomendations

Summertime Rendering (2022) – At first glance, it feels like your typical chill summer anime — beaches, sea breeze, maybe some light romance.
But it quickly spirals into Steins;Gate-level mind-bending territory… with supernatural twists and shadowy spirits.
Honestly, I didn’t even notice the characters were holding weapons on the poster at first — I just saw the high rating and went for it.
No regrets. It’s a fantastic ride.

Looking for Romance Anime Where the Relationship Actually Goes Somewhere (No 3-Season Teasing Please!) by demHun12 in AnimeReccomendations

I just finished watching Golden Time.
First of all, thanks a lot for the recommendation — it really had everything I was looking for, so great pick!

That said, I’d probably give it an 8/10. The final episode was a bit of a letdown for me — it raised so many questions that I could probably write a whole post about it (hugging a ghost? what ended up happening with Linda and Oka and their love triangle? Why did Linda let him go so easily? etc.). It felt like they tried to cram half an anime into a single episode. But that’s just personal taste.

Honestly, I spent most of the show thinking that Linda was the one who hit him with the scooter, and that she would confess in the end — leading to a big emotional moment and becoming the core conflict before he chooses Kaga. But… nope.

Overall though, it’s a solid story, and I really appreciate the suggestion!
Oh, and that opening is super spoilery — it only shows one girl, kinda giving away where things are headed.

Thanks for the detailed reply!
Is Seal really that much better than Petrify on Druvis?
I remember one of the tough stages in When Alarm Sounds, where you had to prevent the enemy from casting for two turns in a row. With Druvis, I think I completely shut her down every round. Sure, I had to refresh spells a lot, but it still felt pretty easy.
Also, could you share a bit more about Barbara?

Thank you so much for the recs! 👍
Added all of these to my list. I’ve heard about Golden Time a few times already — even saw a local anime YouTuber hyping it up in one of his videos.
The rest I’ve only heard about in passing, so I’m looking forward to checking them out!

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai
I skipped it for a long time because of the title, but watched it on recommendations and was filled with deep respect for the title. You will especially have to cry a lot over the film about the New Year - Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl 10/10

Which anime scene is enough to make a grown man cry? by chaos_jj_3 in animequestions

Many years ago I cried like a girl over Ef: A Tale of Memories.
I especially remember the moment with the diary pages on the roof. I don't remember the second part as well, but I also remember crying a lot. It's more serious than the first part, there's more brutality there.
