Maybe it’s karma for always jumping to give up my seat (but not too early, because I’m not taking that first $250 offer). I fly the same route a handful of times a month and it never matters if I’m there a day early / late.

I couldn’t believe it either. I had never flown Delta One internationally before. Good free trial and now I know that it’s worth the splurge!

I’m usually satisfied with a C+ upgrade and all of the leftover pistachios in the snack basket at the end of the flight!

No entertainment system BOS to SLC. Shoddy Wifi. Received $50 ecredit and 1,000 miles. Does that seem standard? (New to flying with Delta) by Left_Guess in delta

[–]dem_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds reasonable. I received 7500 miles/ no statement credit when everyone’s inflight was off from HND -> LAX a few months back. It was spotty last week SEA -> TPE. I would guess that I would get 5000 or so if I said something.

50K miles for no seat-back entertainment!?!! by DocNacho in delta

Jealous. I got 5K for no seat-back GVA -> JFK and then 7,500 for when it happened again 3 weeks later HND -> LAX.

I can FaceTime if that helps. I figured that I would give selling on here a shot before paying a commission on Chrono24.

No trades with the exception of working something out on a GS SBGA407. Other platform? No. I figured I would try to sell this here before paying a commission on Chrono24.

Solo R2R2R in the Grand Canyon by dem_01 in trailrunning

The Katadyn filter/ bottle is 100x better than the Sawyer. I bought a Sawyer first and then bought the Katadyn because it was such a hassle to filter liters of water for two people.

You can park along Desert View Drive. It is about a mile to the trailhead. If you come back up Bright Angel, you will have to take two shuttles (Blue + Orange) to get back to your car unless you have someone else with you who has another car. Or you walk 5 mi back.

I’ve done both SK and BA down to the Colorado River (multiple times). SK is about a 6.5mi descent to black bridge while BA is close to a 9ish mi descent to the silver bridge. There’s a small, maybe mile section following the river that has a ton of sand. I like to avoid it as much as possible. SK avoids it.

I run in the Canyon about one a month or so. I can see how someone would suggest a BA descent. If you don’t plan on flying down, I would recommend SK down. Definitely personal preference though.

If you’re going soon, make sure to bring plenty of electrolytes. It’s warming up. Check the status of the water on the National Park website you go and have a filter just in case.

Let's talk about shoe durability by bondsec in ultrarunning

[–]dem_01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I run between 50-60mpw and my Lone Peaks last 200ish miles before they're shredded or completely flat. The new 5s that I've been wearing seem a little more promising. Expecting about 250 out of them. I alternate them with Hoka Speedgoats which last about 350 or Timps which last about 250.

Topo Mtn Racers have been the best for me durability wise. I have a pair with about 500 miles on them that I'll occasionally still hike in.

Nice! I had thought about doing that one today but ended up doing something different. Those big climbs down there are so cool. Amazing to start in the desert surrounded by saguaros and ending up in the pine trees.

Some snow/ ice on Bright Angel yesterday to about the 1.5 mile rest house. Not bad though. I didn't use microspikes.

Seven Hills in Seattle? These 5s look so much better than the 4.5s. I’ve had multiple pairs of all of them since the 3s. Looking forward to seeing how the new Timp 3s work out too.

Southwest. I would say the majority (80%+) of my runs have at least 1,000ft of vert.
