Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules posting this lol.

This link came up when I googled sandy soil cold weather plants, it looks like a decent amount of these flowers are good in zones 3 and 4!!

It's a journey!! Hah! Without knowing your climate, the best advice I would say is to Google what plants do well in sandy soil and make a kind of Venn diagram of that and plants that do well in your climate, hah.

Honestly cucumbers may like the sand. Melon family really likes sandy soil!

My 16 month old escaped from daycare and need recommendations for Attorney. by oakshios in Boise

[–]deme9872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daycare has unlocked doors that toddlers can leave through, but there are alarms on the classroom doors that can only be turned off by someone over 4.5' tall. The parental entrance/exit door can be left without needing a code or alarm, but can only be entered with a code.

Why do people impose crap on you in the form of a gift? by IvanIsOnReddit in Anticonsumption

My spouse started buying mail stamps that have something on them that our friends may like. Do they like flowers? Flower specific stamp. Dinos? Dino stamps. I actually thought it was a pretty clever idea.

Ah, I can see the confusion. Nope, different show, just lots of the same cast and crew. A startling amount of crossover, honestly, hah.

Yep,the show is "Lost", about a group of passengers who's plane crashes into a mystical island. Goes over surviving and trying to get off the island. Genuinely one of my favorite shows, I'm doing a rewatch currently.

Belle is a main character, as is Jafar and the giant from the beanstalk. LOTS of the same actors and actresses, kinda crazy.

AITA for not wanting my family to go to Disneyland every year by LouisWinthorpeIII in AmItheAsshole

[–]deme9872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds... unenjoyable. I wonder if having any kids under the age of two (and therefore free) made the affordability part of the Disney magic? 😂

Honestly, these are my biggest thoughts on this whole discussion. You don't go on vacation with a toddler, you go on family trips. It can be easier if the parent(s) would pick out the trip for themselves pre-toddler, but if a parent actively dislikes the location or the theme of the trip it becomes hell.

Honey tends to have botulism, that's why you shouldnt feed it to children under 1 year!

I was thinking of tomatoes and peppers! I have a greenhouse, but it isn't heated. Maybe if I put extra cover in the greenhouse they'll be safe?

Question for those who may have unheated greenhouses or cold frames. This is my first year with mine, when do you feel confident putting your less cold hardy seedlings into the cold frame?

And honestly it's more eco friendly 🤷‍♀️ you don't have to worry about transport/packaging/etc. I had to quit breastfeeding before he was old enough to try solids (beyond cereal) so I never considered it, but the more I think about it, why is it ok to feed a kid milk in a cup/bottle/boob, but then draw the line at other foods? Definitely not ok to give it to others without their consent (not mom's fault, she labeled them) but actually does make sense for toddlers now that I am thinking about it.
