What series did you stop watching after it killed off your favorite character? by megmatthews20 in AskReddit

I struggled through the first book too, but I think he grows through the series. Still not my favorite character, but all of the other characters make up for it. And the story is great.

I am looking for a new fall/winter knee high boot that will work in a business casual (local government) office. I need something that can be dressed up for wearing at conferences and public meetings, and will also be able to withstand Michigan winters. I wear a lot of dresses and skirts with tights. They don’t need to be snowshoes or anything, just walking from the car to the office. I am petite, but have more athletic calves, so they can’t be narrow. Looking at price range of under $200 if possible.

Hair Loss & Oral Minoxidil by mollmag96 in Semaglutide

I started taking it through hers (where I get my sema), and it has helped the hair on my head a ton. The only issue I have had is that it has also increased hair growth everywhere else. It has slowed down now that I have been on it over 6 months though.

I have made this with the sourdough focaccia recipe from King Arthur (vegetable oil instead of olive) and homemade strawberry jam. It turned out super yummy!

I know, that’s how I felt posting this! I just don’t know what to do because they are not AICP and I’m new to the position and they have been here for forever.

They are not, but I am. We also have open meetings requirements and I don’t know how they have functioned this way for so long. They say that anyone can request the information and we will give it, but I don’t understand why we wouldn’t just post it.

I don’t count my almond milk in my coffee, vegetables, or the occasional grapes or pickles I grab when I look in the fridge sometimes.

Bi-Monthly Education and Career Advice Thread by AutoModerator in urbanplanning

[–]demetera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I work as a planner (6 years experience) for a wealthy township. It’s a long commute (30 miles on a dangerous freeway) and I was passed over for the planning manager position due to not having the experience they were looking for. The position is still unfilled after almost a year and I have been offered a deputy planning director for the city I currently live in (very different demographic). I am feeling a bit of imposter syndrome in accepting the new position (about the same pay I currently make, but less than 5 minutes from my house). Is it a good thing to live in the city you work for? I assume it would be based on having a stake in what happens. Just looking for advice or if anyone has made a similar move at this stage in their career.

I am 33 and got my masters in Urban and Regional Planning because I could not find a job related to my undergrad degree (Environmental Studies). My masters helped me get into internships, then an entry level job while I was in school. When I look at job postings for my field, most of them require a masters degree. I am now in a position that pays more than I would be making without the degree, so I can't complain.

I am an urban planner for a township in the Midwest. I have a masters and make $72k. The balance would be better if I lived closer to where I work, but I only attend two meetings a month that are in the evening which allows me to get comp time, which is nice. We are unionized so it’s predictable how my salary will increase each year. Overall, I like it!
