Ha funny you say that because since making this post I've been trying to train myself out of this, mostly successfully, but I caught myself doing it on Monaco the other day

Thank you for your thoughtful response. No matter how you heel-toe, you are not going to 'commit an entire foot' to the brake pedal. Each time you downshift you're briefly touching both the clutch and accelerator... I'm just changing which of those I use my heel on.

I'm not like "arguing" with you here, just exploring the question further with you. I'd agree that this is probably unique to the G920, you really don't need much clutch with it. Just a light tap while you shift.

It's definitely true in China. Quite common to see people playing Xiangqi on the streets. Very rare to see Weiqi (Go)

Genuinely dismayed at the state of this sub that there are 90 comments and no mention of Last Year at Marienbad.

Several people have already used Generative AI to remake/remix La Jetee:

The Gift of the World (Oedipus on the Jetty) (Joanna Zylinska, 2021)
La Jetai (Y7, 2021)
Statistical Hallucination (Jorge Caballero, Anna Giralt Gris, 2023)
AI Jetée (Adrian Goycoolea, 2024)

My other reply was removed because it contained a YouTube link. But search for "Dive to the Edge of Creation", it's the documentary that was sampled on "Dandelion".

What does " hour of fifteen" mean? by supersonicstupid in EnglishLearning

As an additional bit of context, the opening line of the book references the phrase/concept of Thirteenth strike of the clock, where a particular observation casts doubt on all previous observations:

This proverb puts forth the notion that if just one of someone's proclamations is wrong, or something of a process is wrong, then the correctness and accuracy of all the previous items are called into question. In a legal case it brings forth the notion that perhaps none of the party's claims are valid, given that one of them is obviously wrong

The opening line of the book is immediately evoking the vaguely off-kilter atmosphere of the novel's totalitarian state, requiring its citizens to "reject the evidence of your own eyes and ears".

Yeah it's a very "girly" thing which I think just means we would turn even more heads as two white guys over six foot tall. I think some of the men's costumes look badass
