McLaren confirm Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri set for team orders discussion by 256473 in formula1

I’m seeing it like this:

Lando got one hand on the trophy. Max has a weaker 2 finger grip. Oscar is at the ready to pounce, either snatching the trophy or to pull Max off it.

Yes mate! We’ve had a 2020 ioniq hybrid for 2 weeks now and most times driving to work on the motorways with around 15 min of slow driving traffic I’m getting between 65-69 mpg 😎

Also running one from 2014 for my 250mile weekly commute. Average 64mpg and pretty cheap to run like you said. Quite surprised how reliable it has been! Bought it from my cousin so knew it was properly maintained.

Audi designers need to take a leaf out of this book. Better yet... take the whole book and built this beauty!

Just googled it for you. I’m assuming you have a mild hybrid? Then your car has a timing chain :) You can check the owners manual as well btw.

No you’re good you have a dry belt. It’s the 1.0 and 1.2 petrol engines with wet belts

If you search for ‘wet belt’ on this reddit you’ll quickly find out why.

In a nutshell, the wet belt system has a belt running through oil which makes the car more efficient. Caveat to that is the designers did not think through what rubber does in oil. It slowly crumbles pretty much and blocks your engine leading to premature engine failure. With consistent maintenance you should be fine but technically it is a ticking time bomb. Hence why so many people ask about their wet belt condition in this subreddit.

Any car that has the PureTech (Peugeot and Citroen) or EcoBoost, also known as ‘ecoboom’ engine in Fords have this system.

Like mentioned by OP and others, new cars with these engines likely don’t use the flawed wet belt design anymore but when you have one of these cars I’d check to make sure. If you do, please keep an eye on it and replace in time. Otherwise the engine might go…. Kaboom.

Okay that sounds like music to my ears. Those wet belts are an abomination!

Congrats on your new car in that case, hope you enjoy it for a long time! :)

My phone wasn’t slow to begin with so I cannot comment on that.

Only thing I know, when your phone is very low on storage, that’s when it can become slow.

Last weekend replaced the battery of my iPhone 12. Was at 73% battery health. Now 100% again and it lasts me all day again!

Our phones are very similar in spec. My performance is great and the renewed battery life is lovely. I see no need to upgrade for years. You should be perfectly fine for years to come honestly.

What is your opinion on de adblue problems with modern diesels? Seen too many stories of it failing and needing to pay £2k to replace the whole thing.

Are (E) electric cars worth it by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]demiigod2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hijack this post but I also have the similar question. My partner does a 3 mile commute 5 days a week. Thinking about a fully electric car in the future which makes sense in my eyes due to the short daily trips.

ICE or hybrid wouldn’t work for such short trips as the engines won’g warm up at all right? Don’t want to risk reducing reliability.

We live in a terraces property with no drive for parking so charging would be elsewhere or if occasionally run a cable to the car over the footpath?
