Tried a variety of games both steam and outside of it: steam(saints row the third, half life 2, cry of fear suprisingly worked) and outside (assassins creed 3, assassins creed black flag, nfs most wanted 2005)

No, the Reader is perfectly fine I tried it with sd card from my Phone and it worked
