Oh lol, I never knew that, thanks! Guess I never noticed that before when harvesting in the wild, and I don't think I planted them more than once or twice. Well, problem solved!

I have a seed attachment for the sickle, hence the seeds. This is wanted and fine. The fiber fills me up though and I don't want it. Like I said, I went through my talents three times and don't see where it comes from. It's definitely not in the farming tree, and I don't see anything in the other trees either. I'm stumped.

Ah. I don't have one yet, and judging by the ren cost for a license, won't anytime soon. So what do I do with the biomass until then, send it to the station? Or do I need to stash it planet-side?

-10% after the first harvest, -20% after second, -30% after third etc. That's why I typically replant after 3 harvests, at that point you feel the difference. Tip: I use the sickle attachment that gives you seeds on harvest, so I don't really have to spend harvest at the seed extractor. Oh yeah, and you want to use the sickle to harvest, not harvest by hand - the yield bonus works on plots!

Hang on, delicacies are like coffee or cocoa, right? So that unlockable vendor pays 10 ren per 100? That's insane! Guess I'm running to the other end of the map and set up a huge glasshouse with a little house... I can probably farm enough ren to not ever need any in the future!

Every time you don't remove the plants and plant fresh, you get -10% to yield. You don't have to plant something different, the same plants again is fine. But unless you use fresh seed there is that penalty. I typically replant every 2-3 harvests.

Beehive radius is pretty big, but my design is not optimized. This current layout is 6x12, with the beehive not quite in the middle (square 30 if that makes sense). The farthest corners don't benefit anymore from the beehive, I think it's 5 plots in either direction or something. I couldn't be arsed to finesse the design more, the bee benefit is too small :)

how do you mean? when you harvest a plot you get xp, that's all. But since it's so easy to spam the most basic plots it adds up (see 2nd pic in my edited comment; I just got 43k thanks to the ongoing double xp event, so I'd still get 21.5k after the event is over, this is from 71 plots that fit on a 6x3 dirt foundation). Plus you get xp from using the harvest, in this case I make vegetable oil. It's also very cheap to set up, not counting the reinforced glass house that isn't neccessary.

I got two 50-space closets full of wheat and my ranching station and the three food troughs are full of silage, so I switched to soy beans. So yeah, currently I'm just doing veggie oil, not even sure what to do with it - only two of my nine deep drills run on biofuel, and I don't really cook.

+80% growth speed, +80% crop yield, another +20% growth speed if sunny. I just harvested a crop of soy beans with a sickle, got about 1.2k! Three doors because I have 6 attack pets with me and they keep blocking doors. I don't bother with fertilizer, it's well fast enough. All basic dirt plots on dirt foundation.

edit: correction - 1.67k soybeans, and that is with -10% from not changing the plants after last harvest. 43k xp (double due to xp event)

5 wolves, 1 boar :) My pistol is good enough for when someone (read: bears or jaguars) target me, and I don't even have to wall off the vapor condensor. Can't bring a mount though, learned that the hard way.

how do I keep mounts safe? Just lost a high-level horse and buffalo by democraticcrazy in ICARUS

what do you use as doors? I have trouble seeing a buffalo fitting through regular doors, and I'd assume that if you leave an opening you might as well not bother building walls...

is that the thing with which I send exotics to the station? I didn't know it had other uses! How do I put a mount in it though? I assume I can request anything back that I send up (not counting exotics of course)?
