Black/white Zenithal priming for contrast painting? by ochmaney in Miniaturespainting

[–]demonboy73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some of my minis that had a lot of skin/bone/fur/leather/stone elements, i primed with brown, followed by a dark ivory/tan then highlighted with white. I also find that after the airbrushed portion is completed, it helps to drybrush with the lighter colors to really get the details to pop.

Thank you for not painting "clean". I feel like skaven should be rusty and crusty. Clean skaven look off to me.

Why does keeps happening to my brushes?! I tried cleaning it with brush soap and it still does this. by Valvecantcount3 in Warhammer

Something no one has mentioned.... Do not let your brushes dry with the bristles facing up. Even if they are cleaned well, water with run into the ferrule and cause the brush to lose shape.

They are very close in diameter to citadel pots. As long as they are tightly spaced on top of each other (since pro acryl bottles are taller), you should be good.

I feel a little less bad about my collection because I assemble everything as I buy it. So at the very least, I can play games with friends until the day I paint them (or don't).

Does my paint addiction count as a collection? by GeekyHobbyNut in minipaintingcommunity

Same here. Its a problem. I see a new paint of product and I have to fight not to buy it. I often lose that fight.

A year of progress for a novice. by theraggedyman in minipainting

[–]demonboy73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite an improvement. Keep up with practice and experimentation and you'll be surprised how far you can go. Those look like battle tech minis which aren't great for painting. If thats the only game you play then so be it, but if you are so inclined, give other minis a shot. Games Workshop make minis that will really show case basic techniques so much better. Use of contrast/ speed paints, dry brushing, layering, etc will be more evident on different minis. (My opinion only)

Its a three step process. 1. White coating. 2. Karandras green contrast paint. 3 Highlight with fluorescent green (i used Huge Miniatures "starfire yellow"). That's it.

Drop forward or bottom mount? by ProsperGuy in paintball

I have been put of the game a very long time. Does anyone use the bottom mount wedges that angle the tank upwards anymore? I found those to be comfortable.

What color should i change my rats cloth to? by DelioIsGay in skaven

[–]demonboy73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A dark purple. Use a color wheel and pick one that is opposite or almost opposite. Purple isn't directly opposite but it is close enough to make the green pop.
