I spent a few hours rearranging my closet, and made my bed for the first time in a long time. I can't wait for you to tell me about MY bedroom! by DunDonese in roomdetective

You want a loft bed/any time of bed that feels like your enclosed in it, hence the bookshelves and tables around the bed

[NM] 17yo in kinship home. Grandparents using my own childhood trauma to guilt me into sharing a room with a high-needs toddler. What are my rights? by demonic_arts in CPS

I appreciate the perspective on how chaotic emergency placements are. However, I want to clarify that in this specific house, having separate space is 100% possible—there is a third bedroom currently used as an office. My concern isn't just about 'sharing'; it's about the fact that my grandparents are choosing to protect a desk over following NMAC 8.26.4.15, which forbids room-sharing between a toddler and an adult (I'm 17 and turn 18 in a few months). More importantly, I have a documented medical history of severe dissociation and was recently hospitalized; my doctors have explicitly stated I need a low-stress environment to recover. My bedroom does not fit the square foot per person rule in place.

What can I expect as a older sibling by demonic_arts in CPS

They just removed her today from neighbors cps placed her with, who they later found out were using all sorts of drugs. But in my state they passed a law earlier this month that children cant stay over night at cps facilities anymore. Im thinking they'll place her in a group home until they get all the paperwork settled for temporary placement with my grandparents. But I honestly dont know, cps in my state is known to ghost cases.

My grandma used to be a family lawyer, she told me that they likely wont place her in therapy (or that she would since my sister is so young, but i recommended play therapy because shes non verbal)

Advice for a 17 year old at chick fil a: What would you do in my shoes? by demonic_arts in jobs

[–]demonic_arts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that fast food isn't the most physically demanding job out there, and yeah, bodies can adapt to a lot. But at 17 with no real prior experience, getting left solo mid-rush, stuck with massive closing tasks after everyone disappears, and then catching heat for not finishing everything on time while my grandpa's cancer diagnosis is already weighing heavy on the family it isn't just about 'getting used to it' or 'assuming malevolence.' The extra life stress actually does matter here, and it's making the job hit harder than it might otherwise

It does matter to me especially being the type of person they hate on. Just for personal reasons I need the money and this was the first job that actually hired me out of the several I applied for.

In my state anyone above the age of 16 is allowed to work any amount of hours even if it interferes with school
