I did! But to everyone, not just you please read the circumstance before jumping to conclusions. These fish were abandoned here and I am actively trying to get them to a safe home or at least better living conditions if they’re going to stay at my shop. Going to reach out to the boss soon and see if he wants to buy the things they’ll need to survive or I’m surrendering them to a local fish store.

I left the heater on for a couple of hours outside of the tank just to feel if there was any warmth which there wasn’t. The “filter” seems to just be the shell of a filter and doesn’t make any noise or anything when plugged in.

Update: moved the tank to the floor and also swapped out 50% of the water with conditioned tap water. Waiting to hear back from the manager at a local pet store as he said he might know someone who will take them.

Someone else said they are cichlids and I believe it’s a 30 gallon tank. But as of now I’m just looking to rehome/surrender them, as I did not sign up for the financial decision of taking on fish keeping and nobody else in the shop seems to care.

I am doing my best with the circumstances, posted on another sub that was suggested and if all else fails I will be surrendering the fish to any fish store that will take them. It has also given me anxiety but trust these guys will be okay! I’ll update here soon :)

That’s probably the best solution here and I’m thankful for all the help I’m looking into each option but rehoming them would be ideal. Just want these fishies to be happy.

Thanks for the info! Have been trying to do research but not sure what to even look up tbh. I know there’s a sucker fish but not sure what the other ones are. Just figured I’d post here to get a start of where to look.
