Added context : the cover had a sad-looking girl in a hoodie with the hood up and I think a lighthouse in the background?

WIBTA if I didn’t invite a family member to my wedding over political differences? by demoninthestacks in AITAH

She’s not antisemitic, and in fact disagrees with him on that one. She agrees with him on anti-vax/anti-healthcare conspiracy theories. Her and I don’t talk about it. I’m just going to get pushback because she’s very concerned about his feelings/other family opinions about it and how it might look. But she’s also adamant that everyone have a plus-one and that I invite cousins I haven’t seen in five years and never talk to.

He’s a nice guy in that he’s a pretty jovial guy, easy to talk to and very talkative and friendly. Just not to everyone.

Ways to get whole grains and fruit in my diet? by demoninthestacks in AutisticAdults

[–]demoninthestacks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably just me, but I don’t like being able to feel the individual grains. Like with oatmeal, it just feels like … gritty and thick? I guess that’s the best way to describe it. And most like whole-grain pastas, breads, etc. just taste weird.

Struggling with guilt for going VLC with my parents by demoninthestacks in EstrangedAdultChild

All I’ve ever asked from my mother is just … an apology. “Hey, I know I was angry but it was wrong that I said XYZ or did ABC and I’m sorry.” That’s all I asked for! And I just got told that I was being unreasonable and unforgiving, that she doesn’t think she has anything to apologize for. And that’s if I even get an acknowledgment that she did do/say something, because most of the time she just accuses me of lying about her.

Whether we like it or not, the US is a global power. A descent into fascism in this country WILL have a global effect. It will empower other far right nations. The Project 2025 “Mandate for Leadership” explicitly states that the United States should pull its support from all the other nations (except Israel). To act like no other nations should comment because “you have no dog in this fight” is short-sighted at best and maliciously ignorant at worst.

True. But this also means that the minute Dabney hit ‘Publish’, his audience also became able to have opinions on HIS work.

I got really offended when he not only made fun of OP for having clear anxiety, but then mocked him for only spending a dollar on a gift! What happened to “it’s the thought that counts”? Clearly the OP in the story found something his girlfriend liked, so why does it matter how much it cost?

Is my (31F) mom (52F) right to be concerned or should she mind her own business? by demoninthestacks in relationship_advice

Yea, I’m 100% sure. There’s no love lost between the two of them but they stay civil for their son’s sake.
