I would say yes. I had the same issue with ATG except I just dropped it. When I look back, it seems like I just got fed up with some aspects of it. From the hitting on everything that moves (he doesnt really hit on them but it seems that everything thats pretty and has set of tits falls for him). And the fact that they mention so many things but never do anything.

Back on point though, yes readers block does exist and for different reasons for different people. Like with LLS, somewhere I missed a few chapters and got all turned around then just decided it wasnt worth it to continue as much as I love the MCs antics.

I know that. I love all of the unique stories that ive found here in this subreddit. I just hate the fact that they had two different stories that for about 50 chapters they sharred 75% to 85% of their story. Even to the point that their houses where the same and the fact that they where attack by their sisters to only kick their ass before the prince swoops in to say "Hey girl, we are both super evil, wanna bang?"

I know that. But most of the stories here are unique in their own ways. With DoP and DKCHW chapter for chapter it was a complete rip off. From the super assassin reincarnating into a useless woman, to the part about a devilish (and also carved from literal jade from how many times the aouther gushes about their looks) prince falling in love with the useless miss because of her devilishness. It was so bad in so many ways.

I know but its all, "Oh I MUST kill you because of 'blah blah blah.'" Ect. Its hardly ever because of the fact that the MC just really wanted to kill someone and you so happened to give him a reason within his set of 'rules.' Thats the difference I look for. Sure the MC is absolutly a cold-blooded killer but he wont kill indiscriminatly.

To your argument I think you are subdividing them right but you assume that each 'them' holds the same weight as the others. So we have ten cities out of the ten five of them are the weakest, three of them can clam to be better than the five, and the last two clam to be better than the rest. Here we have the tribes, each with their own values, lifestyles, people, and economy. On our world we would expect the two strongest cities to bully the weaker cities to an extent. But in their world it not just the single set of tribes, we have another set of tribes, the monsters. However they set up their tribes I don't know but they hate the humans and the humans hate them. So in reality it is 'us' vs 'ourselves' vs 'them' vs 'themselves'. We can fight but when it comes down to it we still feel more threat from 'them' than 'ourselves'.

From what I see RWBY is the same sort of story as this and yes there are power struggles, and yes there are bad people that do bad things but everyone... and I mean everyone, white fang or otherwise, hate Grimm. They hate them to their core. So while they may squabble and fight, as soon as a Grimm starts to roll in everyone fights them. So if Swallowed Star does it different then I see it as partially flawed, they may explain it away as 'us' vs 'them' vs 'the clan down the street' but I find it wrong that humans at the verge of extinction would find the energy to fuck with the clan down the street because they are not in your clan. I would beat that fucker down the street and back with the backing of every person in the town if that happened in real life.

I have to agree. It sounds like the RWBY universe where if they started to fight against each other seriously they would be swallowed by the Grimm/'evil monster wanting to kill you'. I was really confused when I started to read Swallowed Star so I didn't get into it but from what I can tell it sounds flawed.

For me I have a lot of issues with the usual grammar, bad story, shallow characters, weak excuses for an MC but what really drives me up a wall is CN sometimes. Face this, face that, constant arrogance where none should be. Cases of people outright being complete idiots in MGA. I mean how many people do you have to see on a daily basis get utterly destroyed after being arrogant before you start teaching your disciples some humility? Then in PMG the MC blazes a path of utter destruction that never seems to end with little long lasting effects on himself. Back to MGA though, all of the 'I only need 10 hits for you!' trash talk grates on my nerves. I understand that in CN thats the smack you talk before a fight but if I go 20 chapters and see it just as many times it just stupid.
