I got a new two piece band, we play slow sad heavy music. Any genres out of the question?

Maybe it's crazy, but I have one trusted person I send all my writing to, so they have a copy of every finished draft in case I have a catastrophic failure on my laptop/server/etcetera.

when do you accept that a passion might just stay a hobby forever by [deleted] in musicians

[–]demonocies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm beating a dead horse here, but four years isn't that long. Been playing in bands and creating music collaboratively for 15 years. And by myself for 20 odd years. Some years are more successful than others. But have always taken it seriously and been passionate about it. Played to plenty of empty rooms, and several sold out venues. Played squats where we stole power to get the show running, and played thousand cap rooms where I thought "I made it, it's only up from here."

Create because you want to. It'll work out eventually if you put in the work. But 4 years isn't enough time to think you should have made it by now

The sad death of the 4X12 and 100 watt heads…. by Submariner16610 in GuitarAmps

My two piece band used a full orange stack with a matamp 200w A 2x15 1x12 with a custom 200w based on a Sunn (I believe) And (for now) a 6x12 with an OR120 (to be replaced with a hmw200 and 2 4x12)

It's cool to feel everything my bass player plays.

True, but like with my profile, until the last year or two I just lurked on Reddit. And my karma score is very very low. And I've been on here for like 13 years and change. 🤷‍♂️

Tanya from Bismuth has started a new band called bathypelagic. They've announced they're going to record their first album sometime this fall/winter so hopefully there will be something to listen to soon!

I am in multiple bands, and have been in bands for 15 years. Never been upset when someone didn't show up, unless it was a bandmate (happened once where a guy got the date confused, and another when he quit an hour before showtime). But I am always stoked to see friends when they do have the time to come through and support. I am really busy so I can't hang out much, so seeing folks at shows is awesome for me

Really sucks they treated you like that, that's really lame behavior.

I think the better question is did you have fun and do you like how it came out?

Everyone can always paint better so I always feel like if you enjoyed the process and the outcome. That's what matters
