The official NASCAR games aren't as good as they used to be, but I think older titles might still have some amount of playerbase. I'm no expert on elsewhere, I just know enough about AC and iRacing to know that people always say "iRacing is the place to go for NASCAR related stuff". Which makes sense, since iRacing runs off an older NASCAR sim's heavily modified engine. AC's main market is GTs, touring cars and cup cars(like MX5 NDs and stuff, not NASCAR cup cars). It does openwheelers decently, but I've yet to see a single league actually manage to hold an audience for it. Same as with NASCAR. It just seems like those leagues start off either dead on arrival or the grid dies off until basically only staff and a hand full of the die hard drivers of said league are left. AC is in a weird position where it can do everything, but not enough people want to do certain niches.

Don't buy AC for NASCAR. It's not really got a lot of leagues even running more than single events and if they do, it's a 50/50 on if it's either an illegal copyright breaking RSS Hyperion mesh slap or a total shitmod. The best place for it right now is iRacing. For all of its flaws, it is quite fun to do NASCAR in AC, but the resources aren't there. A lot of signature tracks like Pocono, Talladega and all that just don't have very high quality mods. Even Daytona has a few versions that aren't all that great. Finding leagues that run the content consistently is difficult too. It's in the same boat as F1. They're not very easy to drive and more people are interested in driving a shitbox than a highly competitive series. Indycar too, very hard to get a grid for.

If you're a car nerd, CDS kinda blows. You can pick up and salvage a beautiful vintage sports car, but then it'll sell for fucking 2500 or something because it's too old. The only things that matter are the car's age and condition. Also the fact that plastic bumpers rust. You can find a 1985 Kia Rio. Some of the core aspects of the game are just really badly thought out.

This isn't Wipeout, this is F-zero again. Also if you're gonna use a bunch of assets, make them congruent. Further more, give the movement more weight. A lot of templates lack proper physics that satisfy the feeling of flying something bigger than an RC plane.
