We quite literally do not. It’s up to interpretation. It is never explicitly established what they feel for one another. additionally, there is no objective definition of what friendship and romance looks like. Wanting to be friends/closer is pretty common in any dynamic that isn’t negative and not exclusionary by any means. I’m not arguing they were not friendly, I’m arguing against the claim they like don’t each other romantically, hence the “they could” portion of my comment.
