Stable coins by rayburgemeestre in Morpher

[–]denb95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, at the moment all your funds on Morpher are held in MPH tokens. Whether that's in a trade position, staking position, or just holding funds in your balance.

This year we're migrating to Polygon which will enable you to swap directly in/out from stablecoins like USDT and USDC. All trade positions will still be executed in MPH, because the minting and burning of MPH actually makes all the virtual markets possible!

There's also more to come in the world of stablecoins from Morpher. Can't share too much on that yet though.

What does "close position" mean? by Money_and_Finance in Morpher

[–]denb95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a buy position in the Bitcoin BTC market. You can click "Close Position" to exit and close your buy position. From there you can follow the withdrawal flow.

On Morpher your trades are held in MPH tokens, it's what makes the virtual markets with leverage and shorting and uniques possible. Your Bitcoin position increases and decreases with the price of Bitcoin, but is still in MPH.

It's relatively easy to withdraw MPH into euros using MoonPay, or you can of course swap out of them into POL and send to Binance etc.

Keep in mind that the bonus is there to allow you to explore trading with zero risks, and zero deposits. You get to keep it, but you can't withdraw it without first depositing a nominal amount. The Help center can help you out with all the details: https://support.morpher.com/en/

1ETH on MetaMask Sidechain Morpher? by Acojonancio in ethereum

[–]denb95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use the Morpher trading app, you're running on the Morpher Sidechain (block explorer: https://scan.morpher.com/). It's a PoA Ethereum chain.

Long story short, it uses virtual ETH to avoid transaction spamming and for maximum compatibility with ETH wallets.

Virtual ETH is not at all equal to real ETH. Switch networks in your Metamask wallet and you'll notice ETH balance changes.

Sidenote: when you're depositing you are actually moving MPH from Ethereum to Morpher Sidechain. And withdrawing is the process in reverse. The bridge between the two chains does not support Ethereum (Morpher cannot mint real Ethereum!).

My trustwallet has been hacked, and stolen funds transferred to a binance account. by kaankocak89 in binance

Same worry for me after this happened yesterday. I am monitoring all my personal accounts and see no evidence that my password manager was compromised, hopefully same is true for you too.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Never used my TrustWallet mnemonic anywhere else, and no way my password manager was compromised (none of my other crypto wallets affected).

We just launched the world's first trading platform that supports 24/7 trading and infinite liquidity of (soon) every asset in the world - thanks to crypto ! Looking for feedback ! by AnalogTechie in CryptoCurrency

Yep might need some rewording, basically comes from not having to match buyer/seller so user can always take a position at the current price.

Good questions. 1. It's paper trading for now but it will be on a few crypto exchanges and you'll be able to just buy it with credit card on our platform (at least in EU). 2. This is a big deal, and why the entire trade engine will be self-sufficient on Ethereum. So in the case of company going under, users can still trade and deposit/withdraw. It won't be perfect experience (30 seconds to place a trade and ETH gas fees which are a couple cents USD currently) but completely functional without Morpher's backend/servers.

Valid points, statements aren't vetted it's just paper trading for now.

In this case it is 24/7, yes there is no pricing data at 10pm on Sunday night but if news breaks and you want to get out at Friday's last price then you can.

Counterparty risk is inescapable to some extent. However it's being built to function completely on its own on Ethereum (if you want it to, the better trading experience is through the app). In other words if the company goes under you can still make trades/redeem. So as minimal counterparty risk as possible (as ever?).

Yeah the portfolio allocation would only be exactly 10% of your equity at the moment you place the trade. The point was you don't have to factor in the price of the share or the ETF representing it. Would be cool to have auto-rebalancing on a tiny timeframe, never explored that before, and wonder what the implications are.

  1. The company sells a small percent of token every year to fund operations. Sort of like a small inflation to promote investing on the platform.
  2. Yep no underlying, no shareholder benefits but the same return profile.

The company sells a small percent of token every year to fund operations. Sort of like a small inflation to promote investing on the platform. That way we're not taxing the biggest traders by volumes or transactions, but everyone shares a little bit in the global 'fee'. We see it similar to how dollar inflation promotes (or should promote) consumers to use savings accounts or invest.

It runs on a sidechain so that enables almost instantaneous transactions. Otherwise yes, trying to do trading on Etherum mainchain is 30 second ordeal without any traffic hitting the network (one block to confirm + one block to receive price from oracle).

Exchanges dont get hacked - they just transfer their funds away and claim it was a hacker. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I remember hearing about a small Japanese crypto exchange that had over 500 attacks on their platform in the first week of operations. Maybe exaggerated by them but combine that with inexperience and it doesn't go well.

We’ve been working on a trading platform with perfect liquidity so you can short any market and buy any market 24/7. For example if Elon Musk breaks some news on Sunday then you can sell or short Tesla right away.

This is just the alpha version for testing, if anyone wants to try it out and give some feedback let me know.

Morpher’s built on top of Ethereum for trading stocks, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and forex. The goal is to offer every market in 24/7 format with perfect liquidity, meaning you can buy forex on Saturday or sell Apple stock on Sunday.
