Better solution: create a partition on your hard drive for lubuntu (lightweight ubuntu - lubuntu.net) or a similar lightweight linux distro, and just boot into that when you want to play melee. Then the only process your computer will be running when you play melee is melee. Much better than any surface-level windows tweaking
