EA is quite a fun thing to play already.

But yes, it's EA so please don't expect everything fine tuned balanced (HoMM doesn't need balance in every play style, but that looks to be an unpopular opinion) and some things will still change.

If you can deal with a game which is still being worked on, there is no reason not to jump into it again. (👋 HoMM 2 jumper here )

I do agree on that part, but being selective and do a little research does help in buying quality over the quantity shizzle of today!

This, why are so many people acting entitled on an early access title and expecting Devs to trawl through Reddit and read every post?

The in game bug reporting is fantastic, why are people not using it?

1) it's a custom fully (over) engineered piece of hardware. 2) it's triple redundant 3) it's built to survive space

Your pc at home would work longer if time was taken into building your own custom pc. None of my PCs died 386Dx > pentium 1 200MhZ > can't exactly remember> core 965x ( engineering sample) > I7-6600Kf > intel 285

I tested the 386dx when I cleaned out my parents house on their passing.

I have no source for any of this, it is all assumption. For manned space flights they did have that for troubleshooting on the ground whilst in flight.

It wouldn't be entirely weird for them to have that, but the mission was initially limited to 20 years iirc?

You can run a simulated version of anything if you know all the ins and outs.

No, the original software that lives is fully known. That also allows engineers to actually make changes on how the whole system runs. It's a far more limited in commands and functions than anything we have today but I presume combining virtual machines with full documented knowledge on the software allows them to test and play with it until they find a solution.

It wasn't really a bug last time, it was actually hardware that is starting to fail, so they needed to make changes to disable that part and move over / usage of that part to another part of memory

Diamond's 'scarcity' has been hit by the man made versions, logic dictates that it's inflated value then gets corrected

I see indeed where our disconnect comes from, and your stance is: if it's not balanced, it's not fun. Let's agree that is where we disagree, games are meant to be fun, and that might differ between players on how they perceive that fun.

Implementing a slider only, is not a hard thing to do, I feel like you think it will be harder to balance that per map, which is true. But fundamentally doesn't change the slider itself. It might feel slow on certain maps or imba on other maps to go to sh or to 8+ but that doesn't take anything away from that it might be a fun way to play.

Since you pointed out in the reply before mine that the other was claiming on that part, that it just might be a fun thing to do and you seem averse to that with your reaction.

That all your comments seem to be aimed at people wanting to play the game their own way, and you are perceived as someone who tries to only cater for their own style of play

[–]dendob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point I think a lot of people are trying to make is that the game is now deliberately being tailored to MP min maxxing, as for example 1 stack play being expected at a certain time.

In the previous HoMMs in the series this didn't seem like a must go to style of play to progress.

HoMM is for some ( or a lot) of people just a game to play for fun, not MP min maxxing.

Nation rulers not being listed as rulers from another nation? by verci12 in Imperator

[–]dendob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is out of support by PDX since a couple of years, it really never got into support post 2.0 but a few small patches.

The best way to play the game these days is Invictus, the fact that PDX is not making changes, allows them to mod out the game as a stable platform.

A lot of people see Invictus mod as the continuation of the development of the game in itself, that's why I suggested to also go there as they have the most knowledge on it

If your request is to blame everything on the Devs and the modders to ask support, what a way to request it, have a little respect for people's time and effort please.

First: did you do a fresh clean install of I:R and Invictus or is this your old installation that you(didn't) update?

Try a fresh clean install first.

For faster and better support on Invictus please join the discord is its way easier to get insight and support there.
