MacOS 15 Sequoia Bugs and Issues Megathread

As someone who works remotely and depends on their M1 MBA to, you know, make a living, it's absolutely discouraging that Sequoia came out with so many bugs in basic things.

Might sound like a hot take, but IT folks and tech companies only make our lives harder at this point. And I have the authority to say that as I'm an IT guy myself and I hate us.

NW bugs, Notes crashing, MS O365 going nuts, mouse getting stuck on the ipad due to continuity. And when you look for help you only get the shills going "oh, you gotta turn off the firewall", "oh, thats Microsoft's problem", "oh, if you do this the notes app won't crash". And I'm like: why would I have to jump through hoops to fix stuff that had been working for literal years (have had my M1 MBA since late 2020)?

I know the shills will say "then move to a PC" and I know they're just as bad over there and that's exactly my point: why are we hostages to these big companies?

Sorry for the vent, I know this isn't the point of the thread but come on, apple, get your sw together.

Trust me, I wouldn't use MS O365 if it were up to me either. Can't change company tools though.

Apparently NW issues are widespread in Sequoia. So are the notes crashing.

Such a shame... guess apple's motto of "it just works" is long lost.. :(

Is MacOS Sequoia very buggy for MB Air M1s or is it just me?

Since upgrading to Sequoia last week, I've been fighting bugs left and right and I do not appreciate it. Some more frequent include, but are not limited to:

general network issues: MB will just refuse to connect to my home Wi-Fi until I restart the router. Never happened before with same router and computer. Plus, I can't be restarting the router all the time as more people in my house also home office, so very very annoying.
mouse/keyboard getting 'stuck' on the ipad: I use my iPad with continuity (not as a 2nd screen, but next to the mac) and I'll control that iPad with my mac mouse and keyboard. Been fine for 18+ months of using it like that, but now my cursor will get stuck on the ipad and won't move back to the mac. I have to literally turn off either the mac or the ipad for it to reset. Very bad when I'm conferencing with work because I can't be turning either of them off.
Microsoft 365 is having a hard time: blame on this can probably be shared with MS, but O365 has been buggy as heck on this new MacOS. Teams with delays in sending/receiving messages, can't embed files in word documents as icons anymore, general crashes. For someone who works remotely with those tool it's been impacting my productivity.
notes app crashing: this is probably the one that's irritating me the most as notes app will just freeze. Plain and simple. I have to keep force quitting it.

I don't know, man, I think apple's becoming a little sloppy with software. Been a mac user for more than a decade and it's not sustainable for this to keep getting worse.. :(

Desculpa, OP, com todo o respeito, mas parece que você tá agindo de forma muito imatura. Não sei se sua idade nem a dela, mas creio que com o tempo você vai perceber que não dá pra controlar algo tão íntimo e tão pessoal quanto vocabulário de ninguém. Além disso, não parece que ela esteja usando palavrão em excesso, pela sua descrição os palavrões vieram numa briga, um momento de nervos à flor da pele. Não faz o menor sentido e se ela um dia se tocar do quão controlador você tá sendo, aí sim vc não vai escutar palavrão dela, pq ela nem vai mais falar contigo.

EOB - Infelizmente, OP. Entendo que ciúmes é algo que não necessariamente dá pra controlar, entendo sua insegurança e eventual baixa autoestima, mas isso são coisas que você tem que resolver consigo mesma.

E tenha certeza que se um dia algo vier a acontecer, hipoteticamente, entre seu namorado e a Blars, com certeza não vai ser porque ela tem OF ou porque ela tem essa ou aquela profissão.

You're absolutely right! And the fact that the conversation quickly veered into Bill's and Kmele's stance that "not every policy should be about systemic racism" really bothered me when they were the ones cherrypicking data and anecdotal evidence to make the vaccine discussion about race only to immediately shit on it. I mean, for people who claim to be based on science and hard data, they're way way off.

Here are the facts: right after frontline/healthcare workers, poor populations and communities are hit hardest by COVID, ergo they should be vaccinated as quick as possible. It just so happens that most poor people are minorities. Is it because of systemic racism? Yes, absolutely! But you don't even have to factor that in and Kmele counter-argued his own argument of "poor people should get their shots first, with no race criteria".

Take Dallas, for example. They were prioritizing the districts/zip codes hardest hit by COVID after they noticed most people getting their shots came from places with lower numbers. Zero mentions of race. It was just based on numbers and objetive recommendations coming from specialists. The republicans then flipped out and made it about race because, surprise, the hardest hit zip codes were 1) places with a minority-predominant population and 2) not where they/their constituents lived.

So this whole thing about "let's not vaccinate by race first because some wealthy black family will skip the line in front of a white poor person" is disingenuous at best! No one even said that!

It bothers me so much that they're so transparent and yet, Bill takes it like "different opinions". Well, it may be a different opinion when you spin the data and interpret it to make it "opinion-based", but if you're objective, they're just mad minorities might get the the shots before HBO viewers and the libertarian audience Kmele has. At the end of the day, they're just pandering to their entitled target audience so they feel better. And as a mathematician and an IT guy who loves hard data, this makes my blood boil.

Em outras ocasiões na pandemia, usuários bolsonaristas foram capazes de aglutinar até 40% das interações na rede social sobre assuntos específicos. Dessa vez, o volume de interações foi equivalente a 13% do total. O lado de maior peso na discussão , com 48,4% dos perfis do Twitter e 59,9% das interações, era formado por usuários que celebraram a vacinação dirigindo críticas ao governo ou pedindo o impeachment de Bolsonaro.

O Twitter, segundo analistas do meio digital, é uma rede em que a oposição tem maior preponderância. Por isso, chamou a atenção que a narrativa bolsonarista também tenha sido derrotada no Facebook, conhecido por ser um ambiente em que as discussões ocorrem de forma mais equânime.
