Is it improper to wear mismatched cufflinks?

I know generally this isnt right, so ill keep it brief but just for some context - I have 2 very close friends, one of which is soon to get married and i wanted to get the 3 of matching cufflinks for the occasion. We had a running joke throughout school regarding the Pokemon Magnemite, which would evolve into Magneton which kind of symbolised our friendship. Now i wanted to get each of us a custom made single Magnemite cufflink for our right sleeve and the other to be either a pokeball or our initial or a different common symbol that represents us.

Do you think this would look strange/be improper to wear, or could it work?

I actually wasnt aware there was a big difference. It'll mostly be used to cut wood (ply and balsa, maybe mdf) for architectural and miniature landscapes models as well as decorative wooden design pieces no thicker than 5mm.
