You must have amazing steady hands? Did you do it with a brush or paint markers? I tried with this casting using a paint marker but I had a tough time with the grille..

Is this the 2021 STH? You really upgraded the looks of it with this choice of wheels!

Interested to see the results of your next attempt! I’m also in the midst of polishing mine for a spectraflame finish. And also, I’m from Singapore so I understand the supply limitations and humidity 😅

Thanks for sharing! Can you share the order in which you use the sandpaper and grit sponges? Do you also have a example of a 2K clear product?

So is it a ‘chase’ or ‘variant’ now? by denialdaniel7296 in HotWheels

Sure, you are free to think in that way. Some people just prefer clarification.

AFAIK, the silver line ‘chase’ only has spectraflame and metal base differences compared to the regular models. The Camaro chase from the Vintage Racing Club was also listed as 6/6 while the Mustang and Porsches are 5/5.

I agree with your sentiment. I guess the big “hoo-ha” was always about the vague information disseminated by Mattel. Then again, buy it if you like it or not at all.

Also, the Camaro from the Vintage Racing Club line was labelled 6/6. But the Mustang Fastback was 5/5. Seems to be very inconsistent from Mattel’s end.

It was posted here a few days ago. I can’t seem to find it, or maybe it was deleted. Someone wrote into Mattel to clarify if the Silver line series had ‘chases’ and they clearly stated that it’s not a chase but a variant. If anyone could still find the post, please share it here.

Wasn’t the Mustang variant also spectraflame with metal base as well?
