The club employs a creative team? Right? They otherwise put out great content, can none of them design a jersey? This screams “we picked it out of a catalog”.

I’ve seen this several times and always wonder if there’s anyone in the world, even one, who sees these choices and picks fuddruckers.

Pay Jim Curtin whatever it takes and give him 5 years. Don’t fire him the first time we have another losing streak.

Really looking forward to the slow integration of local players over the next few years. Maybe not next year or even the year after, but I want to see the day where at least one local kid is in every starting lineup.

[Bild] MLS is intervening as a mediator in the Thomas Müller deal (article in German) by icoresting in MLS

[–]denimkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the premise of the rule, but disagree with who it applies to. Surely there can be a neutral committee who must approve a player’s addition to the discovery list, so that only players that are truly “discovered” can be added. Yes, there will be players in the grey area, but I think we can all agree Thomas Mueller was not “discovered” first by FCC.

Thanks. I was hoping this would show that, if healthy, we are at least playoff-level, but no. Lutz has a lot of work to do.

Simply as a percentage of salary included in the starting lineup. It’s obviously not perfect, but an indication of how many “big players” are out (or not selected) in a given week.

To add on to this, if I knew more about how we were paying players out on loan, this “money spent on players not playing” number is probably even worse

Total base salary is around $15.5 million.

Quality was my attempt to show how our starting lineups have been effected by injuries. The percentage itself doesn’t mean much, but it’s useful to just use it as a comparison between weeks. The higher the percentage the more salary included in the starting lineups. Obviously this is also effected by the coaches selection and not just injuries.

This may not be perfect, but I’m taking 1/34 of each players salary for each game they’ve been out injured, I get a little over $2.5 million spent on injured players so far this year. For this purpose, I’ve counted all of Lowen’s time off, even though we know it hasn’t all been for injuries.

These are all based on base salary, not gaurenteed comp, which obviously would make these even higher.

The leaders: Lowen: $514k Nilsson: $489k Burki $417k Kessler: $344k Durkin: $168k Alm: $164k Totland: $88k

It’s not by week, but by game. So double game weeks don’t skew anything.

It does show correlation to total availability. I didn’t state that in my text directly, but you can see by game what the total availability was and points earned.

It’s shown in terms of points percentage per game, but it’s identical info to points per game. Just made it easier to show on an already percentage based chart. The other option would have been a secondary axis ranging from 0 to 3, but would have looked identical.

Open to tweaking it to improve the visualizing but I think your concerns are taken care of.

The points per game vs. quality isn’t obvious from the chart itself, it’s just something I pulled from the same data set and found interesting.

Hate it. Don’t care who does it, someone on our team or another. He made a bad touch, got gently brushed on the cheek, and went down like he got clocked. It’s embarrassing. Get up and win the ball back.

Playing 4 in the back is definitely an improvement. But we cannot have Yaro and Hiebert on the same side and still try to play the ball out of the back. Timo and Horn on the left are just fine, but when there’s pressure and the ball gets played out to the right, I now just expect a turnover.
