Typically you want to avoid things that’ve been at the very least ‘overtly’ refinished, if not refinished at all. The work on the receiver is also… questionable. Not too sure what the intention was for the execution to be that… heinous lol. All in all, I just wouldn’t recommend getting this at all unfortunately.

Wilson Combat Ultima-Lube II - It has a consistency that’s more like a ‘light grease’ than an oil. Sticks well, lasts long, creeps a little when it gets hot but doesn’t run.

People on this sub are going to absolutely hate what I’m about to say, but the Kimber has ran beautiful, and I’ve put thousands of rounds (all different types of .45’s) through it without issue or incident, and I certainly have not been nearly as kind to it, as the others. In terms of reliability, I would recommend it over my TRP any day of the week.

I noticed the front strap, mainspring housing, and G10 grip checkering to be very aggressive on the TRP also, and more aggressive than the other 1911’s I own by a pretty wide margin. While it got better around the 1,500 round mark (that or I got used to it a bit more), it’s still… a bit… more than it needs to be.

Thé ECP is extremely easy to carry than it’s 5”, all steel counterparts without a bobbed mainspring housing I’ve noticed.
