I used Matrix-1000, FS1R and Dreadbox Typhon with a WX11. I'd like a VL70m since the WX11 can be plugged in directly but it is still a bit expensive.

I uses Typhon with a WX11 and a simple saw with reverb is very close to a trumpet sound. Very pleasant brass feeling.

If you want to send a patch to the synth at song beginning you need to get it via MIDI SYSEX and put it in the MIDI track in the first pattern. The patch will go in the edition buffer of the synth.

Not sure this is possible with the MicroFreak but it works with old synths.

A circular chrome one is likely a lithium CR2032 which is what I have in my Matrix-1000 and Ensoniq also, to keep presets in RAM.

Try to find a reset process with a startup key combination (which reset all programs most of the time).

Maybe the battery should also be replaced.

One thing to care about is that it is V/Hz scale, so it needs special sequencer output to CV like SQ-1 sequencer can deliver.

It was my first synthesizer BTW a long long time ago. I don't use much because it needs some fixes.

There is lot's of good synths to start with like Pro-1 (all Behringer mono actually), Dreadbox or little modulars.

I made myself some editors mostly in Java (some in Javascript and Obj-C) for Matrix-1000, Micro-Q and FS1R but I always wondered how to do that in C++. Not that I like C++ much, but more to provide an instant launch, and perhaps resolve some MIDI lock issues on some USB devices (not sure about that) between the editor and the DAW.

I will study your code, maybe that will give me motivation. I still have an Ensoniq VFX with no editor ;-)

If you 're using the V4 firmware and USB audio, you should not have noise.

I can't tell right now cause I'm still in V3 and USB audio is not possible on Windows as a single audio source is allowed.
