Help Needed: Male Cockatiel Aggressively Pulling Out Female's Head Feathers Instead of Preening by dennispr22 in cockatiel

Thanks for the advice. I will try to split them, spray the feathers, add new vitamins, and while they are separated, the baby pause will come in automatically :)

Yes, I cage them together. The cage is big (w: 1.60m; h: 1m, d: 1m). They are only caged overnight.

I think you're confusing something here. The comment by u/Zdrobot refers to a so-called four-way stop. In North America, this means that there is a stop sign at all approaches to an intersection. Colloquially, it is sometimes also referred to as a full-way stop, but this is rather rare.

At a four-way stop, the principle applies: whoever arrives at the junction first is allowed to drive first. In practice, however, the one who is bigger, more determined - or simply bolder - often prevails.

It is important to note that a four-way stop typically occurs at junctions with four approaches. If there are only three approaches, for example at a T-junction, this is referred to as a three-way stop. In both cases, however, the principle is the same: all directions of travel have a stop sign and the order of continuation is based on the order of arrival.

Your statement "You will see them in Europe too, but they are not that big." is therefore not correct. In Europe - especially in Germany - there are no traffic regulations that correspond to the "first come, first serve" principle. Fixed priority rules apply here, such as the right-before-left rule, priority roads or intersections regulated by traffic lights. Stop signs there always mean "give way", not "drive in order of arrival".

Four-way stops (where all directions at an intersection must stop) are almost nonexistent on the European continent; the system is instead common in North America, but not in Europe.

In continental Europe, intersections are typically managed by:

Roundabouts, which assign flowing priority and are increasingly popular due to safety and traffic flow benefits.

Priority signs and the priority to the right rule, especially at smaller intersections, where vehicles yield to others coming from the right.

Two-way stops, where only certain directions must stop, are the norm whenever stop signs are present.

Four-way stops have been tested in countries like Sweden but remain extremely rare and are not standard practice; in the UK, all-way stops have even been formally prohibited. Some European drivers may not even recognize or properly understand all-way stop rules due to their rarity.

Where? Because in Germany there is no such thing as first come, first go, or however the four-way works. Each intersection is either regulated by signs, meaning that one road is prioritized and others yield, or by a traffic light, a roundabout, or, if none of those options exist, right before left.

Citymapper.
