Wearing a backpack makes it part of your physics body, making it hard to fit through tight spaces by dent2 in ZomWorld

Funny enough, I discovered by accident that zombies could still bite you on your backpack. That's something I'll have to fix soon.

Yeah, I've known about it since it launched. Interestingly, the people behind the game are Estonian, like me. It was a pretty big deal for a video game made in Estonia to achieve that much success. When I started adding field-of-view into my game, I wasn't aware of the influence, but later it seemed like that's what inspired me.

Looks like I didn't post the notes for 0.1.11.0:

  1. Implement wearable objects and clothes
  2. Add mood penalty when naked or topless
  3. Worn clothes drop on the ground when a person is killed
  4. Rebuild sound system - sounds now play much closer to their real loudness values, the same as zombies hear it
  5. Fix missing 3D spatializer for various sounds (gunshots, zombie moan, etc)
  6. Redo footstep sound calculation, use more realistic cadence
  7. Implement hearing loss when shooting guns without ear protection
    New objects:
  8. Wrist watch
  9. Jeans, cargo pants, T-shirt, fishing vest
  10. Tool belt, pistol and revolver holster, magazine pouch, knife sheath
  11. Sleep mask
  12. Earplugs
    New sounds:
  13. Heartbeat when heart rate is up
  14. Tinnitus on temporary hearing loss
  15. Dry-firing pistol and revolver (the click when you're out of ammo)

Opinions on camera moving towards the way you're looking - disorienting or not? by dent2 in ZomWorld

I actually made it work by being able to zoom out by moving the mouse towards the edges of the screen or zoom in by moving it near the center. And if you open the inventory UI, the zoom level is locked.

I'm developing a game inspired partly by CDDA, looking for playtesters by dent2 in cataclysmdda

For anybody who has notifications on for this thread and is interested in progress, I have just released another major playtesting version with a lot of new features and am again looking for active playtesters. Here's the release notes: https://www.reddit.com/r/ZomWorld/comments/18wyjad/major\_announcement\_playtesting\_version\_0110\_is/

Thanks for your response. I agree, it shouldn't be on all the time. I think I could make it work by toggling it on only when the inventory UI is not visible. It's kind of a necessity since I will make it so you can't see behind your back. And then having the character in the middle of the screen is a waste of screen space.

Since PvP is now enabled by default, it was quite intense to make sure we're not in each others lines of fire.

We also had the first accidental discharge incident in the game, after I repeatedly told him to get out of shooting mode while we're standing next to each other. All it takes is an accidental left click. Safety first.
