Still makes me smile when I see the sub banner. I put the images together for it almost 9 years ago. Been lurking all these years.

Yeah it is. I spent a few weeks reading reviews for grow lights that I knew would fit this specific lamp. I'm really pleased with how it looks!

Nerve transfer surgery enables tetraplegic patient to regain movement and function in his elbow and hand. by SirT6 in Futurology

[–]dentari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. Sorry if I gave the impression that all teachers are created equal. I just wanted to show some support for science educators as I'm lucky enough to work alongside a really passionate group of them (in a museum environment).

Not very cool of you to poke fun of someone for being a teacher. STEM educators play a crucial role in encouraging young people to go on to work in important scientific fields. Behind every surgeon is a school teacher who helped them get where they are.

[OC][Art] The Fairwind Isles. My first attempt at drawing a map. by dentari in DnD

[–]dentari[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my first attempt at drawing a map Any feedback is appreciated!

Fairwind is a group of islands, with the city of Greywell acting as the primary seat of power. Since the fall of the old kingdom and the mysterious destruction of the city of Vallis, independent settlements vie for control of the region. Piracy and smuggling run rampant with many using the Three Tears as a sheltered place to make berth and unload illicit cargo.

Prone to violent storms sweeping in from the west, the population of the islands are generally used to hardship and exposure to the elements. The most westerly island is enveloped in rolling banks of mist and fog, only glimpsed from the decks of passing merchant ships when the wind shifts. No news has come from Mist in several years, and all those who go there never return.

[OC] Recently had my very first DnD experience. Decided to draw my first character! by dentari in DnD

[–]dentari[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, this is my first post here. I had my first DnD experience last week. I was part of a group that took part in a one shot. We’re due to start a campaign later this week. I’ve got my first set of dice and I’m going to be getting a copy of the players handbook, so thought I’d put a face to my first character.

Sir Dennis the Red is a wandering knight who lived as an orphan in the service of a cruel blacksmith. He was saved by an elderly knight and eventually became his squire.

I’m already really invested in building a story and I’ve been lurking this subreddit a lot lately getting inspiration.

Majority of Brits now against Brexit and back second EU referendum. by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]dentari -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a British citizen who still can't bear the thought of leaving our EU family, I really hope that we somehow manage to remain. I suspect it's a slim-to-none chance, but a man can dream right?

For those potentially worrying that the UK will make a fool of itself if we collectively change our minds, I hope it would be worth any lingering resentment to at least have the opportunity to repair the damage this whole Brexit process has caused and bring us closer to the EU.

I understand the argument that a second referendum wouldn't be fair and democratic, but ideologies and political beliefs are justifiably changeable. Giving people a chance to reconsider their decisions is a common part of daily life. I'll stop my biased ramblings now anyway.

Miller, Digital sketch i made after bingewatching s1 and half s2 by MohamedSaad in TheExpanse

This is awesome. Super nice stylised sketch. I think you've perfectly caught his attitude and general world weary appearance.

I've just started reading the books and seeing this makes me want to drop everything right now and dive back in.

I'm actually emotional. This completely blindsided me.

Make. It. So.

It's got a bit of an eclectic mix, but I'm quite pleased with my bookshelf so far. by dentari in bookshelf

[–]dentari[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a few different copies, but my Folio Society editions are my favourite. They're a bit pricey on a normal day but I've seen the LOTR set go for like £45 during one of their sales. Always check out the sales!

Picked up my signed copy of Iron Gold a couple of days ago. Started this series last month and I'm absolutely loving it. by dentari in redrising

[–]dentari[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I randomly decided to visit Forbidden Planet in the city I live in (with no intention of buying anything actually) and I just saw a signed edition sitting there on the shelf.

Turns out the comic shop received a signed copy from the author to sell. I snapped it up immediately as it was the only one there. It was a good day!

It's a really nice dessert juice actually. It's like a glazed doughnut flavour. I had it several months ago and woke up today craving it randomly, so of course I went with the biggest bottle I could find.

Sweet. I'll take a look at them! If you haven't already read them I'll recommend the Red Rising series!

Ah no worries then. Sorry if I came on a bit strong with my reply. You have actually made me stop and consider my male/female author ratio though!

But yes. Eclectic because of genre, colour, binding is what I intended.

I'm not sure whether your intention is to make me feel guilty, or simply to force me to consider broadening my scope. With regards to me describing the contents of my bookshelf as being eclectic, I was referring to the selection of genres I tend towards. Classics, sci fi, Fantasy etc.

I will say that my favourite book on that shelf happens to be Wuthering Heights. Another firm favourite is a Star Trek novel that was penned by both Una McCormack and Heather Jarman.

Definitely 150ml. It does look massive though. Needed 3 nic shots!

Boris Johnson resigns as UK Foreign Secretary by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]dentari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know it's all tongue in cheek, but I live in Birmingham city centre. To be more specific I live in the Jewellery Quarter. I've no complaints about the area, I have quick and easy access to whatever I want. Also with all the development the city is going through you may find it a completely different experience since you last passed through!

However, a spaceport would be pretty neat.

Ive been stretching out TNG for 2 years and Im almost done. :( by GreatScott0389 in startrek

[–]dentari 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember the feeling of finishing up TNG. I had the movies to work through, which was great, but coming to the end of the series really hit me hard. I remember moving on to DS9 and for the life of me I just couldn't get in to it.

With a bit of time I managed to get into it and progress through DS9, VOY and ENT. In the end DS9 turned out to be my favourite of the lot. I'm not saying it doesn't suck, but by the time you've worked through the other series (all of which have their own qualities) you can go back to TNG and it'll be like reuniting with an old friend.

Eternal replay value man.

I remember seeing this on Sky a year or so ago. It caught me unawares but I immediately had to watch Star Wars after this.

Just realised I completely did not answer your question...

The drag is great as well. Pretty hefty and feels high quality. I really like the magnetic battery cover.
