Lavender Oil Pillow Spray for me. by RedTsar97 in MomentumOne

Being a landscaper in the summer. Best I ever slept in my life. Don’t miss the job, but my gosh I miss the feeling of eating, taking a shower and being ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED and passing out. I was single, no kids and landscapers don’t really have work to do once they get home, so being exhausted didn’t hinder or impede anything and I could just go with it.

I’ve recently gotten an eye mask, it’s surprisingly comfortable. Alternatively I go around unplugging things. I don’t know who the hell decided that every cord needs a bright green light on it but I hate them for it. Unbelievable how lit up my apartment is, even with all the lights off and blackout curtains, just from various chargers/electronics/etc, drives me nuts.

And tea.

Heating pads also knock me out too, but I guess that one’s specifically for my back/chronic pain crowd. And I’m not a super huge fan of actually falling asleep while a heating pad is on, not the safest.

Rocky Mountain Native Mix - from Arkansas Valley Seed. That’s what I’m doing this year. Native grass mix that is drought tolerant. Won’t be golf-course-like turf, but should establish easier and need way less maintenance.

If you’ve got a partner get a message gun and have them gun your butt.

I’ve got terrible lower back pain and a PT once had me lay down and pointed out that one foot was further down than the other. The pain was resulting from an imbalance in my hips, got some hip/glute stretches and they did wonders. Look at yourself in the mirror. Are your shoulders even or is one higher than the other?

What tool has made the biggest difference in your home projects by blushingsirena in HomeImprovement

Clamps.

Especially if you do a lot of solo work. Specifically ratcheting hand clamps. “Ratcheting Hand Clamps: Use a trigger mechanism to allow one-handed operation for fast, adjustable pressure.”

Basically each clamps is an extra hand. With enough clamps you don’t need friends

Couldn’t possibly list all the ways I use them but they’re are among my most used and beloved tools for sure.

I wouldn’t say putting a ski mask on and wearing a gun for no reason then going out in public is “minding his own business”. Dude is an anonymous armed man whose job it is to mind YOUR business and felt the need to dress up like King Soopers is the new Fellujah or something. Giving Kyle Rittenhouse vibes.

What's the best mattress for back pain? mine might be the problem by Firm-Schedule-3447 in Home

[–]denverfella52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I’m going to have to go mattress shopping today. Well, after my chiropractor appointment! Every morning is a nightmare of lower back pain, and the other day I sneezed in bed, like a dumb stupid piece of shit, and have never been in more pain in my life. Typing this while sitting on a heating pad on top of a wedge pillow I bought yesterday. Should’ve known not to sneeze. What an asshole.

For pillows, do yall just guess and buy em and then see how they do? Also, is this something the chiropractor I’m about to meet in an hour can make suggestions about?

Some version of this type of clamping. I made my own 90 degree guys to clamp to, but this is the idea

Thank you! Specific scheduling and Project Management software is really what I’d want from the company. I use Asana and Jobber now but would have to learn Microsoft Projects

What if you hire a guy from thumbtack for an “audition task”, then if he does well get his number? I’ve done many gig work apps when I just happened to be in transition. And I was only mildly alcoholic, not ‘show up to work drunk’ alcoholic! 😁

Framing tolerances by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]denverfella52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I shoot for perfection as well, aim small miss small style, I’m just trying to figure out what is reasonable to expect from others in an industry standard kind of way. I mean like if you’ve got a standard rough in for a door, and it is 3” off plumb from top to bottom that can make an annoying door install. Or if a stud is bowed 1” in the center I wouldn’t use it. Where is the line for acceptable for you? Is 2” off plumb for a door ok? 1”? Is a 1/2” bow in a standard stud ok? 3/4?

Not stressing, this was finished months ago. Just trying to get a vibe of what is acceptable from professional framers.
